Great Planes Rimfire 400 28-30-950 Outrunner Brushless, GPMG4560

A good EasyStar motor and works well. This is a good replacement for the recommended German motor, which is almost impossible to buy in the USA. We could use just a little more powerful motor, because we added a Pixhawk autopilot.

You need a good size Bench Top Drill Press if you want to take the motor shaft out to put in a hollow shaft for a 10" variable pitch propeller...Needed for 4D also called F3P also called F3A flying...If no drill press you will not have the proper alignment etc....Great motor for a 10" prop just need to ask great planes to give an estimate to have them put in their 10" propeller on a variable pitch propeller setup on a rimfire 400 28-30-950......jimjan1055

I found this motor to have plenty of power for the model I used, no issues with mounting or running. I've purchased 2 of these motors over the last couple of years.

tHIS MOTOR WENT UP 4 TIMES-THEN BACK TO ITS PALCE ON THE SHELF-i FIRED IT UP THIS EVENING AND SHE STARTED SMOKING-I UNDERSTAND THE WARRANTY IS OUT-I HATE TO THROW IT AWAY-WHERE CAN I GET IT REPAIRED-DO NOT KNOW IF I WOULD BUY ANOTHER ONE-PRETTY BUMDED OUT BY THIS ONE

Like the other reviewer found this motor to be very poor quality for the rating that was given. I think its extremely under powered for the Multiplex Easystar II which is the only reason I got this motor (it was the recommended). The hardware that came with the motor is almost useless. The motor mount is a large triangle with two holes per arm (one for motor mount to engine, one from base plate to motor mount. I've never seen a base plate with the mount screws but I dont fly small scale models which is what I think the engine was made for..I think it would be a great engine for something like the Champ of another mini model, but not for a park flier.

I was surprised at how poor the quality of some of the components are on this motor, specially coming from a brand I associated with better quality products.The motor (at least for now) works fine, but the accessories that came with it are what I found terrible. The screws that hold the engine mount came with damaged threads, the materials feel cheap and the propeller shaft was slightly bent at the end. The propeller shaft broke in half when I was tightening(it's aluminum so I was doing it gently)a propeller for testing.I would look into other brands when buying a motor.
