Aquila Means Quality
Every Ukulele forum that I am a member of everyone recommends Aquila strings for their instruments.I just recently purchased a Banjolele and wanted to replace the cheap starter strings that came on it. Of course I wanted to get Aquila strings. There are two different types of Aquila strings that are specifically for Banjolele's. These and the "Red" series that are infused with copper powder in the process. I decided on these due to the wound C string. It adds a bit of extra twang to the sound of the Banjolele. You can of course use standard Ukulele strings on a Banjolele, but I wanted something to show off the voice of the instrument a little more than the standard Nylgut strings would. I highly recommend them.

Great strings, will fix the dead 3rd string issue
I had about given up on my Gold Tone DLX Banjo Uke, C (third string) always sounded dead, but could find nothing wrong with the instrument. Sounded terrible. I happened upon a review of these strings, and the red (wound) 3rd string COMPLETELY fixed the issue that has bugged me for over a year ! So happy with these strings !!!

The best sounding strings I used on on my vintage Gretsch banjo uke. The C string is not 'wound' as claimed, but is an Aquila Red; Reds are denser, allowing a lower pitch without giving up tone. At least, that's what Aquila claims. I like it though, not as 'thumpy' as a regular C nylgut.

Loud and Bright
I love the bark these strings give my banjo-ukulele. They can cut through when playing with other more powerful instruments like fiddles, mandolins, and saxophones. I have played and been heard even outside acoustic jams and they stand up to a medium guitar pick strumming. Still for all their "cut" they can be soft and tender with fingers or felt picks.

These are ukulele strings, not banjolele strings
The search in amazon showed these when I searched for banjolele strings. They are too short for that. I have a ukulele so I will use them, but just finished a rebuild on a banjolele and instant disappointment

Niceeeee...
Fantastic sounding strings. I put these on my banjo uke and it really brightened up its sound. I also love the single red string running down it. Very sharp!

Wonderful strings for banjo ukulele
Wonderful strings just what I needed to make my Eddy Finn Banjo ukulele sound even better. And I love the RED wound third string, gives it a good banjo sound.

Quality but
As always Aquila strings are amazing, long lasting, clearly labelled and strong. But on this occasion, when replacing the usual cheap strings on my new Ashbury banjolele, the red C string was stripped of it's outer coating as I tightened it while it passed through the groove in the nut. Of course it may be that the groove is too narrow and this is not Aquila's fault. And so far, the string hasn't snapped. If it's still ok in 3 months, I will have to upgrade the rating to 5.

BEST STRINGS FOR UKULELE
I restrung my four ukuleles with these strings; two banjo ukes and two normal wooden ukes and I have to say that these are the best strings I have ever used. The delivery came with a warning, saying that the red strings can break when installing them. Not here, they went in nice and tuned up within hardly any time at all. I will continue to buy ONLY these strings in future. - TRY THEM

The red strings are not very strong. I tried to buy replacement red strings but they only sell the set. If they sold the strings individually it would be a different matter but to have to pay for a full set when you only need one string is more than I can afford.

Good sound but fragile
They sound great but red string breaks far to easily to be confident in live performance.Generally pleased with more robust nylegut strings
