do NOT purchase from Owl POS Printers
I ordered two Star Micronics, SM-S220i-DB40. I set them up identically and test them both before going out into the field (event photographer). When the event began, one of the printers failed to print. We had to uninstall and reinstall, and in continually quit working. I requested a refund for the one printer. In the return instructions, it states that you must contact Owl POS Printers to explain the issue. I instructed that this has 'never happened before, it must be a setting or need an update'. No instructions came with the device so I had to look the manual up on the web. No instruction on how to update. It is now past my day of return. Convenient, I know. Now I am stuck with a broken printer. I should have just forfeit the 20% restocking fee.

Poor Battery Life
Battery life is poor. I was told by an employee at Star that you can not operate this printer while plugged into AC. You can only use AC to charge the battery and then unplug it. This is a very nice nit and functions well, but you will need extra (expensive) batteries to make through a busy day.

Does The Job
I used this printer to print receipts for my Square and PayPal Here credit card transactions, in my taxi cab business. The printer is very compact and light weight. One thing I have noticed, is that sometimes the PayPal Here app will not recognize the printer for whatever reason. I've never experienced this issue with Square. Overall, I am fairly satisfied with the printer's overall performance. Regarding the printer's battery life: Since I used the printer exclusively in a mobile setting, I purchased the Star Micronics Car Charger (Model #SM-S/T) on another site. The Star Micronics web site indicates the supplied battery can be fully recharged up to 600 times before the battery should be replaced.

Does NOT work with Square on Android
The printer does not work with Square if you are using an Android tablet or phone, and Square will often not tell you this. It only works with Apple devices.

PERFECT Portable Receipt Printer
Got this in about 4 days. Tried it out...perfect. Hooked it up to my iPhone 6+ and paired it like a charm... easy to operate... printed test receipts from both PayPal Here and from Square apps.... Thumbs Up!!! Portable... perfect size... and prints fast... got it for a good price too. Thank you.
