Ceramic Egg Cup/Plate with Spoon Rest

If there was a way to give 3.5 stars, would do so. Sigh, the only reason would be the item being so overpriced, and its small size. For almost $17, would want it big enough to hold at least a piece of toast cut in half.Long story short, I recently purchased the Cuisinart Egg Central and fell in love with it. So now I have perfectly cooked soft boiled, poached eggs etc. Fast forward to now I feel like I am an "eggspert" and feel compelled to take this enjoyment to a higher level. The plate does hold the egg perfectly, and perfectly nests the Endurance egg spoons that I purchased.Reviews of others previous to my purchase revealed many complaining receiving cracked plates. I have ordered several times for myself and gifts, and have not experienced this problem. I am not certain if packaging has been enhanced or not, due to these reviews. I can say that out of 5 plates ordered, none was received broken, and each was securely bubble wrapped.Wish that seller would consider at least a price break if two or more ordered.

These are the best egg cups ever. The little tray and spoon rest make them much easier to use than the stand-alone kind that you have to balance on a saucer, and the size of the actual cup is perfect for all sizes of eggs. We have thoroughly enjoyed them.The only thing that disappointed me was a visible chip on the edge of one of the cups. The four pieces were very well packed, so I doubt that the damage occurred during transit, which means that someone packed the damaged one that way. Careless or purposeful? Neither conclusion is flattering to the vendor. I expect that they would offer to replace it if I asked, but I don't want to wait another 6 weeks to get a new one (we'll probably chip another one before that!). It's sort of like finding a cracked egg in your package--you sigh and toss it rather than griping to the supermarket about it. The extra effort is not worth the cost of the egg. You just figure that the vendor is increasing his profit margin a tiny bit at your expense. <sigh>I still love the egg cups.

These plates are an absolute must! Not only are they well made, but it is so nice to have a spoon rest while eating a soft boiled egg. It holds the egg perfectly ( I used x-large or jumbo), with room for soldiers. I didn't know they made such an egg/plate until I saw them used in our hotel while in Rome this summer. When I returned home, I checked all the specialty stores in my area, and no one had them or even heard of such a plate. So I checked Amazon. And here it is! Even better because the one in Rome didn't have a spoon rest! I ordered several for gifts. Everyone was delighted. They were delivered on time and packaging was excellent.

These egg cups are marked "Wm. Bartleet & Sons Porcelain Est. 1750". The quality is very nice and the cup size is good for a range of chicken egg sizes. I love the fact that there is a place for the egg spoon. The "soldiers" would probably fit if they were stacked between the spoon and cup.One of the cups arrived chipped. I notified Amazon and received an email from the seller less than 24 hrs. later. I sent a picture with the chips still in the cup and of the hole in the box and received a replacement promptly.Edited: The price when I bought them was $4.99 each. I see they are now $7.50.

The concept is great but I ordered four and two came broken. The company was very prompt at crediting me for the two broken ones and were very apologetic. My problem is I NEED four but not going to purchase another two. I will give these as a gift. Wish they were in stainless steel or plastic. We love out "dippy" eggs.

great concept, thick ceramic... only thing is that we ordered two but one of them had a rough finish... but not bad enough to return

The egg cup itself is low enough that you can easily shell the egg half way down (often cups are too high and you can only break a tiny bit of shell on top) and the deep groove around the egg cup perfectly holds the broken shells.Egg cup fits large eggs easily.I don't have egg spoons but my ikea 'data' teaspoons, which are perfect for eggs, sit perfectly in the spoon holding space.I ordered 4 and all arrived in good condition. Sturdier/heavier than expected which is a bonus!

I like that it gives you room to stash a pinch of salt and pepper in front of the egg.loses a star because one of the three I ordered arrived chipped and the fragments were not in the box, so it was shipped chipped.

There are very few egg cups designed with a combined spoon holder like these. Excellent for the purpose. I bought my original set locally but when stocks ran out managed to track them down on-line. Great service with prompt delivery.

Dieses "Eierbecher-Set" ist eindeutig kein "Set", ich weißnicht, wie die Hersteller darauf kommen, dies so zu verkaufen...Der Eierbecher ist wie abgebildet groß und blockig und auch in der Verarbeitung nichtunbedingt toll....Für sein Geld auf garkeinen Fall weiter zu empfehlen!
