I purchased this sunshade because I was looking for one that was larger than my previous one to cover the windshield on my wife 2018 Santa Fe. This one fits quite nicely, even though it's a bit snug going around the rear view mirror. I don't use the sunction cups because the sun visors simply hold it in place very well. The quality is quite nice, especially for the price. I recommend paying a bit more to get this one is you want to feel like it was money well spent. The straps and the way it folds are very good, making the shiny part always hidden inside when it's folded, so no reflections in the car while driving. The heat reduction is much better than the previous flimsier and smaller shade we had. I didn't measure the difference, but the sensation is this one is working better than a thinner one did. I recommend this, and I don't write reviews often.

This sun shade fit our 2012 RAV4 good. It’s slightly oversized on the length but not a big deal since the sides fold. I wasn’t expecting it to fit exact. It is very sturdy so be prepared when you install it. I have to place it under the rear view mirror first and then go from there. The more flimsy ones just tuck in if you don’t clear the mirror completely. Not this shade. It fits our windshield snug from top to bottom. I like that very much. I definitely think it depends on your car. It may be “universal” but it’s sturdiness offers little forgiveness when installing it. That being said, the sturdiness prevents it from falling down at all. So when I build my time machine, I will go back and tell myself to purchase it because it works for our 2012 RAV4. This way I don’t disrupt the timeline for the rest of the world.

For context with the Texas heat it has done a great job at keeping the car cool but after just 3 months the product has lost all shape and will not hold up and a clear layer on the grey side of the shade has begun flaking off resulting in clear plastic flakes all over front dash and seats.

I bought one of these 2.5 years ago for my 2011 RAV, and it just started to peel and get very flimsy. I live in Florida and my car sits in the sun all day. Just ordered a new one and it’s very sturdy. A little big for the RAV4 but still works.

Great for the 1st month of summer but when used for 90-100+ degree days it will lose it's sturdiness and become limp and very soft. I've bought 2 thinking the first was a defect but no... they both did the same after it got extremely hot. I've bought the blue and silver and both still failed. I got what i paid for. Cheap China junk sold on Amazon. If you want one that will last spend close to $100+ for one because you will get what you pay for but always research for the best sunshade before buying. These are NOT it.

It lasted about one year and three months. It worked well to keep the interior cooler, and the strap and clip worked very well to keep it folded up when not in use. Unfortunately, the material is failing after all the folding and unfoldings. A tear has gotten continually worse and is leaving bits of shredded plastic all over. Packing tape doesn't stick to hold it together. Epoxy is really the only option to fix it, which does kind of work to keep it together. I can feel the material getting softer on the other fold lines, which could indicate failure elsewhere before too long, so I am replacing this with a fabric sunshield.

We just had a brutal summer here in the South, with 90+ temps (two days at 98) and direct sun for three weeks. We have 2 cars, both parked outside, and I bought this shade, plus another brand that was made up of two separate squarish circle shaped shades that you overlap for the other car. This one by far kept the interior cooler than the double unit one. (the double unit stows away smaller, into a bag that is a flat circle less than 12 inches, so it has an advantage there). But on a scorching day, neither keeps it 'room temperature' cool. The thing I look for is how hot the top of my dash gets, which is where a lot of the heat comes from, and this one did a better job of keeping that temperature lower. I'm thinking about getting another one of these to replace the double piece one in the other car. you car will still get fairly warm, if not hot. My purpose in using a shade is to protect the interior and especially the top of the dash, from being ruined by sun exposure. In that case, either type works. But this one is more efficient. And it accordions down to a 36" (or so) flat bundle with a built in snap strap, that works well. It also has 2 suction cups that better hold it in place, so that is also a benefit.

We have a 2016 Volkswagon Tiguan. The sunshade was a perfect fit. I was worried because I had ordered one from a company and it was 4" short . We told them the model and make of the car and they still didn't get if right. This sunshade is great but I will tell you that it is a bit of a struggle to get it out of the windshield , without one of us being in the way. I think it will give more in the summer when it isn't cold. I would recommend because it is thick and good quality.
