How Karma Relates to Christianity
Karma is a continuous journey where our actions and their ends in the past, present, and future determine our life's circumstance. By doing good, say, volunteering at a hospital shows our giving nature. The action is there for everyone to witness and even partake in by setting an example. This type of good example is then drawn to a map of a person's destiny. I believe a person's fate is fixed and our ends in life are predetermined. This can be exhibited with Jesus Christ's God given objective to die on the cross. Fate can be exhibited by the rise and fall of the Church. Fate can be witnessed in the afterlife as soul's go to purgatory or enter the kingdom of heaven, though there is not really any experiential testimony in the physical world that suggests this. Science is younger than faith. We can continue to do good such as the case with volunteering for a hospital to seek out what good God has in store for us.Karma relates to Christianity because when a person hunts with all his heart and treats others the way that person would like to be treated, and does on to others that that person would like done on to him, it shapes the world the way God would like it to be. Life circumstances are molded for people by the Creator God in to what has been written on God's stone for people. However, if a person's attitude and belief in these commands rapidly changes and goes back and forth from loving to not loving behavior towards others, it will seem like chaos where bad things can happen. For example, a person can stab another with a knife, get arrested and go to prison. But upon getting out goes back to his good paying job which he could have been working at the whole time he was in prison. Circumstance can change, but in being circumstance is linear. Loving your neighbor as yourself is a great commandment in Christianity and is accomplished by treating people fairly, with a heart, and virtuously, just as has been done by Mother Teresa and thousands of other saints. It makes those that strive to be pure at heart, many worldwide, have hope for the present and future. Ultimately, to revive a dying world to a revitalized and harmonious New Jerusalem. It must be done one step at a time to ensure balance so that nothing is missed and forgotten. Not to say that big steps can not be taken to reach peace, big steps can be taken. Though humankind must be united for peace and even those who are Buddhist can join.

It was an interesting book. Scholarly enough for a first-year student.

Just right
This book is perfect for an Intro to Religious Studies class. The authors write very well, the topics are well chosen, and the chapters work well with one another. I especially appreciate the Religion and Science chapter and plan to use it as an overarching theme throughout my course.
