perfect for hanging my transducer over the back of the yak.

As purchased, extension arm is too short. I had to use two extension arms to get the side-imaging transducer for my Humminbird 598C depthfinder 8" below the bottom of my frameless pontoon boat. The single arm supplied with the unit only gets the transducer to or just below the water surface. Also, the bolt holding the transducer bracket to the bottom of the extension arm is too short; this caused the bracket to keep coming loose (easy to fix with a slightly-longer bolt, however). Not sure if this will hold up to the speed produced by a gas motor or a powerful electric, but it should be stiff enough to handle oar/flipper speeds. Have not had time to use it on the water yet, but I think it will work. The Scotty side/deck mounting bracket is attached to a pvc crossbar that goes behind the stripping apron on my Scadden Predator, and the crossbar also holds a Scotty flyrod holder for use while trolling with oars.
