THE SMOOTH CASTING FLUOROCARBON Don't be fooled by "fluorocarbon coated" imitations, FluoroCast is a true fluorocarbon that casts like a nylon monofilament. The high density line allows lures to run deep and is virtually invisible to fish. Amazingly sensitive, FluoroCast provides excellent knot and shock strength for hard hook sets.

Stren is my personal choice for Florocarbon.
I have tried other Brand name fluorocarbon line.Found Stren to wear and strength to be a preference.I would recommend this line for lighter weight up to 12# test. I found anything heavier a little difficult to control on bait casters and highly recommend swivels to eliminate line twist on spin casters.Anything heavier I use Power Pro or Berkeley braided 30# or higher depending on application with weeds and Hydrilla. This lines (all fluorocarbons) sinks so is not recommended for top water. I suggest Mono or Berkeley Fusion for top water as mono is less apt to sink and even less apt for same of Berkeley Fusion. Berkeley Fusion is much thinner than either for strength although will skin the surface coat in rough cover, etc. and will shorten your cast due to the nature of the product. Some memory with fluorocarbon, little to no memory with braided or Fusion.Catch more fish..“Big Fish” Rick

Not recommended
Line broke on 1st 2 fish I set the hook on. Tied on a crankbait and broke the line by hand. 15 pound test and I could easily break it with my hands with no pain and not even close to cutting my hands. I assume the spool shipped to me was stored improperly or was just very old. Doesn’t matter it’s in the trash now and I won’t be purchasing stren fluorocarbon again.

Great leader line
Not sure how this would work as a mainline but most cheap flourcarbons make excellent leader line and this is no exception. Knots hold and I have to had any unexpected breaks. Seems to fair well over rocks and the occasional pickerel. As long as you check your line every once in a while you should be straight.

100 percent fluorocarbon. Great product
This fluorocarbon line is very strong, abrasion resistant, and hard to see in water like it's supposed to be. This is 100 fluorocarbon and not that stuff that's just coated. Overall I am satisfied with this line and have zero complaints. You get a good amount of line for the money. I have caught several fish using this and would recommend it to anyone. I use this as a leader into my braid line.

Stren got you covered
After extensive tests, I conclude that stren flurocast is a really solid fluorocarbon line. Caught huge moray eel. bull reds, and huge snappers with it. The only problem I have with it is that the line sink slower than other brand.

No confidence
Broke instantly on hookset twice in a row. Now I am afraid to use it as a leader. No problems with the Spiderwire Fluoro. Wont be buying Stren anytime soon.

Good for resisting sunlight/UV deterioration in crafts
Bought this to use for making wind chimes. "Regular" fishing line on some other wind chimes would deteriorate quickly in the L.A. sun and the chimes would fall apart within less than a year. The fluorocarbon line is supposedly much better at standing up to sunlight/UV damage - so far so good.

broke first fish and every fish thereafter
I wish I could give this crap a negative review. I removed last year's 4 lb test and put this 4 lb test on. I sucks. I lost 6 trout this morning because the line broke and I went home skunked. I also lost the jigs, bobbers, kastmasters and whatever else I tried. It was an expensive purchase. It even broke with just a kastmaster on, no fish. The seller must be selling seconds or old stock because I have never had so much trouble with a 4 lb test.

Horrible
Hands down THE WORST line I've ever used. My husband and I both just put this line on and it's awful. There is no getting rid of the memory, doesn't cast smoothly, tangles immediately. Terrible.

Poor knot strength, little abrasion resistance.
I bought this line (6 lbs test) to be used as a leader on my center pin reel equipped 13' Steelhead rod. The first time i used it i lost 2 fish due to line breakage at the swivel. I also noticed that the line is easily damaged/frayed. I have other fluorocarbon leader lines that are stronger at lower lbs test (5). Not recommended.

Confiable

Good light feeling line that cast great
I have this on my baitcaster and it casts great. It's strong and allows me to feel bites when wacky rigged. It's not stiff like other flourocarbon lines and I've had no issues with clearing the odd bird nest.

Not great for my use
Not a good leader material to use with braid, poor knot strength. Probably ok as a standalone line, seems to have good properties.
