Just what the doctor ordered!
I have a Hayward H400FDN heater and it stopped working about a week ago. The FC4 fuse kept blowing and when I followed a troubleshooting guide I found online, it instructed me to test the resistance of the igniter and then the blower motor. The igniter checked out but my blower motor was only measuring 3.8 ohms on my multimeter when it should have been measuring between 4-5 ohms. I assume the lack of resistance caused a spike in amperage and that's why the fuse kept blowing.I ordered this motor on Wed and it arrived quickly via UPS on Sat of the same week. Excellent! The motor itself was very easy to replace. I first removed the 8 screws from the original blower motor (4 to the back plate and 4 to the base of the heater) and disconnected the old blower motor from the Integrated Control Board (ICB) and blower vacuum switch. For those worried that their current motor has 4 wires and this one only has two, don't worry. The newer models only have two wires but the same plug into the ICB. They're 100% compatible.I installed the rectangular and round gaskets (included with the blower motor) in the appropriate spots, took the rubber nipple from the old blower motor and put it on the new one, and screwed the new motor to the backplate with the original screws. I then screwed the new motor to the base of the heater in the original spot, hooked up the rubber hose from the blower vacuum, and plugged the motor into the ICB. I flipped everything back on, turned on the heater, and she fired right up. The whole process took 15 minutes and it was very easy. I'm certainly no pool technician, but this was an easy DIY job.

Easy blower replacement
Hopefully the 2nd blower will last longer than the first400k BTU ASME Hayward blower lasted less than 3 years with light duty

Not a direct replacement
This is not a direct replacement for the blower on a Hayward H1001D. It will work but be prepared to modify it.

Drop-in replacement for H400FDN blower.
I used 'Make sure this fits' to ensure this was the right replacement but still had some reservations because even though the connector to the fuse board is the same, this model has 2 wires while my old one has 4 wires connected at the motor. Jerry at South Walton Pools :) helped me to confirm compatibility before connecting it to my H400FDN pool heater. The package included the blower, rectangular gasket, and round gasket. I needed to keep the back plate, screws, and the rubber nipple from the old blower for the new one. Easy to transfer those parts & install to the heater. And once installed, it worked great. Original problem was fuse FC4 kept blowing, possibly from damage by mice or possibly motor winding insulation broke down over time, heat, corrosion.
