Ornette & Charlie
I originally had this on LP, with a fold-out sleeve I seem to remember. I loved to play it when in the right mood, which is when you need to hear the deceptively lyrical tenor sax of Ornette interweaving with the deadpan bass of his old friend Charlie Haden. The title track is from a long-forgotten cult US TV show of the 1970s of that name {which starred Woody Allen's second wife Louise Lasser, trivia buffs}. Most of the numbers are by Ornette, save Human Being by Haden. All feature well-recorded ruminations on a theme by two men who loved to make music. This must be one of Ornette's rarest and least known albums, but it's well worth getting if you can find it/afford it. If you appreciate chamber jazz, you'll love it, and if you love Ornette, you'll have to have it.A neglected gem.
