It's a nice, comfortable blanket, but just that. If you want this for a Kotatsu, I'll let you know that, if you are in a position in which you're trying to save a lil money, I'm sure a blanket you already have at home will work fine. I'm sure you could buy a brand new blanket that doesn't need to be imported and use that instead of this, saving yourself a hefty chunk.With that said, this futon is more comfy than the spare blanket I own, and is a very nice aesthetic addition to the kotatsu in a way that a blanket that wasn't made for that purpose wouldn't be. It probably is also better at keeping in the heat than a cheap blanket would be. However it does feel a bit light, whereas you may be imagining a thick, heavy quilt. Worth it if you have the money to spare (as of the time of writing it is $95), and if you're an American weeb buying a Kotatsu for fun then I guess you probably do. But if not, don't feel like it's essential.All that said, I'm satisfied with the product, so 4/5 stars

Very nice blanket for the kotatsu, very soft and comfortable. Didn't notice the waved stitch pattern from the pictures, but it adds a nice variation and helps center the blanket on the table.

Softer, more comfortable, and seems better made than commercially made 'blankets' that you can buy at big-box stores or online; this is much more similar to homemade quilts and blankets from family members.We bought this to go with our first kotatsu, and expected there to be some kind of grommet or cutout in the center to allow the tabletop to be secured with this in place, but it's really "just" a very nice blanket that's been optimized for warmth while also being thin enough to let the tabletop still be semi-secure.Planning on buying several more this fall when things get chilly so we can rotate and wash them regularly!
