The product is nice except that the speaker jack is opposite side of the iPod's aux input. It's a nice product but the design is not very well thought of.

Great speaker
By far the best portable speaker I've come across. It was already charged upon arrival, so I went ahead and played several different genres of music on it to determine how good they were (hip hop, r&b, techno, trance, drum n' bass, punk rock, alternative, reggae/dancehall, classical...and to really test the bass quality, dubstep); I am 100% satisfied. Yes, the bass isn't amazing, but it's much fuller and clearer than speakers of similar size. With that said, here is my breakdown:Pros:- Great sound quality for it's size (much louder, and clearer, than any cell phone I've ever had or any other portable speaker of similar size)- Battery life- Swing mode or manual on- Protective case- No need to remove iPod to charge- Excellent price- Arrived very early (ordered on the 2nd...status showed delivery between the 8th and 12th, but I received it on the 5th)Cons:- Headphone jack will only support plugs with narrow, straight casings; L-shaped plugs will not fit- No screen protection (i simply left the plastic vinyl that was already attached from packaging)I highly recommend this purchase. Thanks, Cyanics!

Serious design flaw
Somehow they managed to put the connection to the iPod on the wrong side. So you can only use it by putting it in the speakers backwards which gives you no access to the controls on the front of the iPod. It's basically worthless.

Don't buy this if you are looking for quality audio
It sounds just like a cellphone mic!For it's price, people will say that it's worth the cost. But think about it. Another 25-30 dollars and you can get a whole lost better audio quality than this. Don't make the mistake of buying this for it's portability.I barely used it since I got it. It's just not a good speaker.

Sound Investment From a Little Guy
Ideal for travelling purposes and a beginner speaker system for first-time users of the IPOD nano, I do like this device more than I'd anticipated. Personally, I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to using tech-no-lo-gy, but I am puttering along. It is quite compact and very simple to use. The speakers (at least, in my opinion) are not as clear as one would hope, however, considering the price and practicality of the product, it is more than sufficient to meet a music lover's initial needs (great projection of sound, considering its size). And for those who would not want to broadcast their personal tastes in public, there is also a place where one can use their headphones/ear buds. Gotta love that. Depending on how frequently one would use their nano, the speaker maintains considerable staying power and I have had to only recharge it a couple times a week. Lastly, I love the fact that it comes with its own protective case, but be forewarned, the screen has no cover, so one would have to get a separate casing for that part to avoid any damage in that respect. All in all, it's a great product for a great price!

So many compliments and questions!
I brought this little thing (connected to my iPod) all around my classes and during work, playing various tunes. I received so many interested comments from people of all sorts! Everyone wanted one of their own. At only $20 it is really a steal for its ease of use, quality and function. The sound quality is actually pretty good, though it does get a little fuzzy at its loudest levels. It's not really made for blasting heavy metal, but it does have a good range and can easily fill up a medium sized room with classical music at about 75% volume. The protective case for your ipod, which is a part of the design, is really convenient. I was also glad to see that you can plug your headphones into the device if you just want to listen solo on the go -- no need to remove the iPod to get at the headphone jack. So nice!I am so glad I purchased this. I'm sure I will use it for a long time to come!

Still going strong after 4 years...
I love this device! It is great to be able to listen to my iPod 4th Gen without having to deal with an earplug or headset. Given that it has a manual "on" switch that allows you to use it without twisting the speakers out, you can easily stick it in your pocket -- the iPod has the added protection of this device, and whatever you're listening to goes right with you. (Yes, you can hear it through a pocket, even a jeans pocket.) Actually, I often prefer the sound with the speakers not twisted out. I charge this at the same time I charge my iPod; and this device outlasts the iPod. You can use these speakers while charging them. I purchased this device in 2010, and it continues to work as brand new. I just purchased a couple more in 2014 simply to ensure that I have backups, as I'm not sure how much longer accessories for a 4th Gen iPod will be manufactured. Actually this will likely prove to be unnecessary, as I have accidentally dropped this device several times, including onto pavement, and it has withstood the impact with no effect on the hardware or on sound quality. (Actually, it has probably saved my iPod.) Still, though, I like these speakers so much that I can't imagine being happy using my iPod without them.
