Better than the powder
It does work. I usually can only root a cutting in plain water, they always rot in dry soil or absolutely won't grow roots for some reason. I have used powdered rooting hormone with a about 50/50 success rate years back. I have recently been completely unsuccessful in propagating succulent leaves & stems with the powdered hormone, now with this gel, every one of them have rooted and usually within days. FYI the moonstone leaves, immediately dip in the gel, stand up right in damp sphagum moss (loose not packed) do not let them callous first (my experience anyways). I have also got the strings of dolphins, bananas, pearls and ruby necklace to grow roots from a little fat leaf within a few days, prior to this gel I had to drop an entire stem in water and wait a few weeks for roots. I have not noticed this having any sort of smell, it is a small container but your not supposed to make the rooting end look like a q-tip. I probably have over 50 leaves/stems currently sprouting and still have over half of this little container.

Expectations exceeded
Workday very well. This is my second purchase. I place it on my snake plant and my Mostera Adonis and in a week or less I has roots

Major propagation upgrade for me
Rootech gel really upgraded my propagation game! Going from some old powdered stuff to this gel increased my cutting success and speed dramatically. This may not hold true for everyone, but my success rate and speed were abysmal until I started using Rootech gel. Now I'm buying the big tub to keep stocked up! One tip: to keep you product fresh, scoop out how much you're using in that session and put it in a smaller container for use rather than dipping cuttings directly in the tub. For their tiny containers this is less important, but it's my process going forward with the larger tubs. I'd give it five stars if it didn't stink so bad, though

No Results Yet In Roots, But We Have Growth!
Had a jungle mint monstera mid-cutting that wasn't doing well, it's roots rotted in the shipping process. I tried treating it in diluted hydrogen peroxide to save the remaining roots, but they ended up all rotting away within a few days Anyway, I got the plant on 9/10/25 and by 9/19/25 all the roots were completely rotted and slid off the stem with minimal force. I'm unsure how much of this damage was my fault, vs the packaging, vs it being a midcutting which apparently doesn't do well anyway in comparison to top cuttings. I normally propagate in water, but because it already had rot, I worried about it surviving water propagation. I have zero experience rooting in moss, but I set up a moss bin and I had put some of this gel on the stem where roots should come from. So far it's been a week and I have no roots still, however I do have this growth point which is finally emerging! Which means the rot didn't take too much of the plant! I'm really hoping this gel helps or at least I hope the plant roots regardless of the gel. I'll update my post eventually. I don't know if I should try reapplying the gel or not though, but I'm probably going to avoid reapplying 10/28/25 I have plenty of roots now! I'm unsure if this paste helped or not but it certainly didn't kill it so there's progress! The first root developed on 10/10/25 in a spot I did NOT put this paste (the aerial root coming out from next to the growth point aka the higher up root) I'm not sure at what day it was, but at some point the spot I DID put the paste did start developing roots and there's two roots coming out of that section (the lower two roots) All roots look healthy, and it will remain in the prop box until I see a leaf fully emerge. Overall unsure if this product works but it at least didn't kill this plant. I'm going to try it on two albo cuttings I have that don't seem to be developing roots as well as the other cuttings are.

Check the seal and smell it let me know
It got here. It looked good. I open it. I go to smell it cuz I it's first time me buying this for them to make a couple clones and it smells like dog crap now. I don't know if that's the normal smell, but I used it on one of my clones and it doesn't look like it's doing well also, the seal on the top wasn't sealed on when I opened it. At first it was connected to the roof of the cab

Very tiny
Very very tiny jar but the gel is very thin so it barely looks used after I used it for about 15 plants today. No smell either. I can’t wait until new leaves start popping up!

Small yet effective.
A lot smaller container than I thought.
