Recipe photos are nonexistent
My daughter loves to bake so I purchased her two baking cookbooks for Christmas gifts. The other book I bought has a big, beautiful photo in bold technicolor on each page, showing every finished recipe item. This recipe book has 200 pages and does not include photos of the foods. For those a bit new to the kitchen (most teens), I feel photos are extremely helpful and make for a more achievable end result. The description of this book showed colorful pages but in reality, there are a few photos at the very beginning of cooking utensils/pans and only @ six photos of the food items (bad, bland photos at that). There are a few cartoon drawings as well (how to mix, etc). The book is disappointing, especially for the price. It reminds me of a cookbook I had as a teen - in 1977.

Almost zero photos - boo
My teen rejected this book because it has almost zero photos. He needs a more step by step with photos. So if that’s what you’re looking for - NOT the book for you (or most teens I know).

Great book for teens
My 13 year old loved doing through the recipes. They are a bit advanced but not too much to where they're daunting to try.

Great resource for any new baker!
I bought this for my teen to supplement culinary class since schools shut down during CV-19. The book opens with key baking terms, safety and cleaning info, types of baking equipment with some visual aids, & 7 habits of successful bakers. Recipes list ingredients in English measuring (cup, tablespoon) and are color coded by level of difficulty. Each recipe has consistent step-by-step instructions. There are breakfast treats, desserts, breads, pies, and dinners. Back of book: contains a conversion chart (dry/liquid from Eng to metric), online resources for bakers, and offers new bakers event categories to help them use the recipes. There is also a glossary of terms in the back.Suggestion: My teen would have preferred more photos (visual learner) - perhaps a small photo with each recipe would be nice so the new baker knows what their finished product should look like.

Recipes teens will want to bake!
I was shopping for a baking book written for teens, not childish but not too intense either. This book is perfect! Great selection of things teens want to bake, easy to understand and an explanation of baking terms & products the teen will need to understand.

Great book, but some recipes don't work and there are no pictures
This book is, for the most part, good and has many recipes I want to try, but some of the recipes don't work, such as the flourless double chocolate cookies. I followed the recipe exactly, but these cookies were weird and not that good tasting. They were over-chocolatey, so if you make these I would recommend adding less cocoa powder, and they were a bad texture, so I would also recommend adding flour if you're not allergic to gluten. I also made the banana bread recipe from this book which turned out to be delicious, but I would not make the flourless double chocolate cookies from this book again without altering some of the ingredients.

Good product
This was a hit with my 14 year old. She's been watching cooking channels and wanting to bake. Often there were terms she didn't understand. This book had recipes at her level. I let her open it a few days before Christmas because she and her friend were bored during school break. They made the lemon bars which were delicious! Like others have said the thing that would have made this stellar would be photographs. I would have been willing to pay more for the book if they had invested in photography.

Love
My 12 year old daughter love this. She grew out of all the kid cookbooks but the adults weren’t as fun for her. This has everything she needed to create new bakery items and so much more for her to learn from.

American measurements
I wanted this cook book for my Granddaughter who is just learning to cook, so I was very disappointed when it arrived and the recipes were in cups and not grams, I know she could probably convert them but when you are just starting to learn you don't need that extra burden, I am going to buy a different one for her, I wish this had been in the description

A must have recipe book for any budding Bake Off stars !
I brought this for my 12 year old who has started to bake. She loves this book. It is full of lots of useful information about health and safety, equipment, conversion tables and the basics of cooking and baking as well as the recipes. It is well written, clear instructions and descriptions suitable for older children. It does lack photos and illustrations of the recipes but the well written recipes make up for that .Good selection of recipes including baking and mealsMy daughter has so far made sweet and savoury recipes including mac n cheese. All have been successful, tasty and needing minimal adult help. Its giving her a real confidence boost in the kitchen.Highly recommend for any budding Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood's out there !
