I love it!
I was worried it was going to show up broken or maybe not working, but it's all perfect. There's not a scratch on it, and the oak is really beautiful. (It looks better than the sales photo.) I can't tell if it's solid oak or just a veneer, but it's nice. It looks real pretty in my living room. I bought mine to play some old 78's that I got at a swap meet, but I'm sure everyone will ask about my Crosley once they see it. I think the front plate is metal instead of plastic, so that makes me feel much better. The radio, CD player, and record player all work well. The glass doesn't appear to be glass. I think it's plastic. (That part I don't like, but I can live with it.) If you're looking for a fancy hi-fi system, then this probably isn't a set for you. However, if you're like me, and you want a little bit of nostalgia, yet you don't want an old tube radio that smells like mold sitting in your living room, you'll probably love this set. I was worried it was going to be a piece of junk, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. Actually, I think I love it. The delivery guy who dropped it at my front door, left it sitting upside-down. I guess he can't read because the box clearly has big arrows that say "THIS SIDE UP". I was almost certain something was going to be broken or scratched, but after I got it out of the box, I found it to be in perfect shape. It was packaged inside a bunch of styro-foam, and all the parts that could break from being turned upside down, where either taped in place or they were held down with little pieces twist-tie wire. (Thanks Crosley.) For the price that I got it for here on Amazon, I think it's a steal. I'm sure they are selling these at a loss because I think it's way too nice for what I paid. It probably should have cost closer to the MSRP on the Crosley website. I'm not sure I would have bought one at that price because I was worried about quality, but now that I've got it for less, I feel like I really got a super deal. Again, the sound isn't going to compare to a hi-fi stereo system with large speakers, but for what I was looking for, I love it. I noticed there are jacks for external speakers on the back. Who knows, you might be able to plug those in and make it sound really awesome? For me that doesn't matter. I like it just the way it is. For the price, it's perfect.

Nice stereo
This console came fully assembled and was very easy to hook up. It looks great in our 1930s style home! The record sound quality does not have the scratchy vintage sound that I was hoping for, but it still sounds good. Only drawback is that there are no controls to adjust the audio...treble, bass, etc. It's a great product for the price. We love it!

Don't Buy This
Please don't buy this console. While it looks AMAZING and its sound is even okay provided you don't mind a lack of low end and don't want to listen to heavy metal or the like, it is a piece of trash. The needle is not weighted properly, which means that on any record with a high dynamic of sound, it will skip like crazy. It could play loud records fine and soft records fine, but it could not handle any variance. To add to that, the left speaker on mine shorted out within about 2 weeks of owning the unit. When I called Crosley and spoke with a technician, they said there was nothing to do but to return it, which I have. I will get a different brand, because even if another unit lasted longer than 2 weeks, who knows how much longer than that it will go.

Worth every penny
I am basically writing this review because when I was researching to buy this turntable i didn't find the reviews helpful. so here we go.... I was looking at a turntable because I wanted to start listening to records. I've never had one before, always played my mp3s but wanted something new. I am 33, and my girl and I purchased a home recently. its an old victorian style home, w/ lots of historic features in the home. so that is why i was attracted to this model, as it has that historic look to it. first of, the thing looks awesome!!! it looks so much better in person. its pretty solid. so if you like the looks of it, and its something you want, then go with it. now about the sound quality. you hear a lot of people talk about how Crosley is bad, or whatever. i wouldn't know because i'm not some conoseur. i personally find the sound to be fine for what i want. of course it doesnt have that huge sound that people enjoy because thats not what this is meant for. the sound quality is fine. i think many people are just so anal about sound and certain things that unless you are spending $10,000 on a system nothing is ever good enough. for listening to records, the sound is pretty good. if you want to attach other speakers then problem is fixed. i would recommend this to anybody, its cool looking and fun to listen to records on.
