Did I mention the circular hoop a.k.a. finger ring at the opposite end of the “Flat letter opener“? Let me tell you it is a game changer! You probably are only looking at non-metallic triggering self-defense plastics for one reason. “If you know, you know!“. The finger hoop not only allows you to carry & grip securely, - strike that "super-securely! In reverse grip and forward grip and when motor skills are paramount and Gooey warm red covers your hand, it becomes very hard to control and keep ahold of your “tool“. The finger ring allows complete control when motor skills are running in overdrive and helps maintain extreme purchase while negative forces“ or attempting to do harm. Please notice the side profile picture that shows a spear tip is out front of the “letter opener“. This will open your letters and your packages and “many other things“ with extreme prejudice.

As the days get shorter and the infamous time change occurs, we runners often find ourselves running in the dark. As a trail runner, nighttime runs can be fairly interesting. A good light is supremely important, but being back in the woods by myself, a decent weapon certainly makes me feel better. The weight of a regular knife is often an issue, with even a fairly light clip knife often turning into an aggravation and tugging down my waistband. This knife is an elegant solution. It is feather light, and being made of grivory, is rust-proof. I tuck it up under a sweatband on my wrist, so it rides on my forearm and is easily accessible. Admittedly, this is a last-ditch sort of implement, but it feels robust enough do a lot of damage, and is a vast improvement over a stick or a rock. It's my night running security blanket.

knife is sturdy and the edges are sharper than I thought they would be, I wouldn't want to be slashed with it. Bigger than I thought it would be about 9 1/4 inches overall. that isn't a deal breaker for me but it changes how I carry it. PS this knife is fully non metallic if that's what you want, just cut off the key-chain ring attached to the handle loop.

You would think after more than 7 decades of continuous passion for anything to do with the martial arts, weapon arts and related areas, (Judo, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Boxing, MMA, guns, rifles, swords, knives, sticks and numerous other weapons), that I had enough weapons in my collection; however, I just can’t seem to resist purchasing more. This is why when I saw this product (Cold Steel black FGX Ring Dagger, 31/2 inch) on Amazon I decided to purchase it. In the past I have purchased numerous products from Cold Steel because they make quality self-defense and weapon products. Yes, it is made of hard plastic, but it can be a handy little self-defense tool when you do not have another type of weapon like a, (gun, combat knife, baton, a cane, a Hanbo, Cold Steel Delta dart, tactical metal pen, a sharp metal key chain holder, or other type of Combative tool). Besides, I just like collecting all kinds of self-defense tools and did not have this particular one in my collection. If you are also a weapon collector and desire a light weight hard plastic key ring type of knife you may want to check out this product. Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. This is a very fun toy to play with. Sure you can convince yourself you're a CQC expert and could use this in self-defense, but, get real, that ain't happening and if it did they would probably have a gun. This is a toy to be played with, and it excels at what it is - pointy, sharp, and fun. You could seriously damage something with this thing, but, realistically, there's no sensible circumstances where you have this and that's your best option. It has a very robust feel and a nice texture and I'm glad this exists bc it's fun to play with.

Do NOT buy any knife with a nonmetallic blade for anything except one-time use in an emergency. This knife will both stab and cut quite effectively if it is fresh and hasn't been dulled by trying to cut or pierce things beforehand. The point and edge would both deteriorate rapidly with use, meaning hopefully your fight against an assailant will be over with in just a couple of minutes because beyond that you're going to be jabbing at them with a blunt piece of plastic. It should be more than enough for a single violent encounter if you reserve it only for that purpose. If you want to test it by cutting and jabbing various things, I'd buy two. Test with one and discard it once it is dulled. Keep the other pristine in case you need it.

More solid than I expected, lightweight and good grip. Wish there was a holster for it, but it’s a great value for what it is.

Great knife, shame it hasn't been readily available for over a month by my count - its made of grivory which is basically "the adamantium of plastic" in my eyes. Not something to re-use, more of a one time self defense tool or emergency backup piece of gear etc. You can't really re-sharpen a polymer (plastic essentially) knife lol

This is a solid non-metal tool that appears to be quite solid. I’m certain that this will be able to stand up to reasonable use and abuse and long as you understand the limitations of the material. It’s an excellent light weight trainer

If you are looking for a decorative piece, this is the product for you. The only piece of metal on this product is the key ring. The entire thing is made with plastic. Would not recommend

If you're familiar with cold steel's FGX product line, then you'll know they are pretty tough. This one is just like that, only it's also very sharp and pointy. The serrated edges are offset to give great tearing ability and the point is strong enough to poke into my laminate floor (don't ask!). If you like the other FGX items you should really enjoy this one. More will be on YouTube after I test it further...and fix my floor.
