took a bit to melt
Used for oil cloth mixture and seemed to work well. Left the cloth a bit stiffer than I anticipated for the thickness of the coat applied. During a very long drying period and then caught in winter rain storm with 10-15 mph winds the cloth shed it all. Good stuff if a bit stiff.

Great, versitle soft wax
Perfect stuff and way cheaper than most jewelry or candle supply places. This stuff is exactly what it's supposed to be, soft, pliable, and sticky. I got this for doing the sprues and such on some lost wax castings. I'll probably mix the leftover with some beeswax and parrafin to use as a finish on some of my wood turnings.

High quality wax
Exactly what I expected. I used it to combine with paraffin and a heat gun to waterproof some beehives. This wax is nice and sticky and the rain has been heading up on my hives like never before.

Great for copper sinks!
I bought this to protect my copper sinks from oxidation. This block will last a long, long time and has many other uses for protection of metals exposed to the elements. There is a brand sold specifically for copper sinks, but it's just a microcrystalline wax blend and costs 5 times the price for the quantity. I dry the sink well, close the drain, carve out a small blob (about 1 tsp. or less) of the wax, drop it in the sink, heat it with a hair dryer until it's slightly pliant, then begin moving it with a small piece of cut-up t-shirt. I continue to heat it intermittently while wiping a very thin layer all over the sink, including the rim (my sinks are over-mounted). It lasts a really long time. Repeat when you notice the water no longer beading up. Two or three times per year is usually enough. Make sure the layer is very, very thin so as not to cloud the beauty of the sink. People use this kind of wax for many, many things. Use your imagination!

Packaging very hard to remove
Product seems to work fine the packaging it came in was incredibly hard to remove from the wax..the plastic bottom broke into small fragments and am still picking shards of black plastic off of the wax as I use it.

Very very beautiful wax. Used in an alginate mold of my hand and arm and it turned out beautifully. Textures and all. Only issue was a large bubble area but that was just something I could have fixed while pouring. Thanks National Art Supply! Also very quick delivery.

Für Polierwachs verwendet, Sehr gut einzig die Plastikwanne vom Wachs zu trennen war Gefährlich und langwierig dafür einen Punkt abzug. Es kommt in einer schwarzen Wanne, die brüchig und scharfkantig ist.

Soft wax, it is difficult to find soft microcrystallin wax in uk. Only downside as was mentioned by others is the container it comes in. I would prefer it wrapped in plastic or placed in a plastic bag.
