This is working great, it's caught 8 rats/packrats, 5 mice, and a squirrel in about a month. The squirrel survived and was released to eat more of my plants; we put the rest out for the coyotes.We're no longer finding nesting material on the car's manifold, even when we forget and leave the hood down, and the fuel pump wires are no longer being nibbled!I followed Mousetrap Monday's youtube to mount this in a 30 gallon garbage can.Update: after 2 years, it's still catching packrats. the wood has gotten a little warped (it's outside in the desert), so it doesn't reset itself, but we got two in the last two days.We've also caught several mice and a couple of squirrels, but no chipmunks. Hubby has been using fish sticks for bait, the rats can't resist.

I have technically caught rats with it, but the havahart and snap traps seem to be much more effective. Built with the cheapest wood possible. There may be plastic versions now. If so, buy those if you want to try this repeater trap. I have not had the success with it that I was hoping for.

Others have stated that they received the smaller mouse version of this trap. I had hoped that it was a mistake. NOPE. Seller is clearly choosing to misadvertise this as the larger version used for rats.One of the main tip offs, aside from size, is that the rat version has a hole near the front of the ramp (see pic) so that you can anchor ramp to prevent it from flipping down when rats climb out to ramp's end for bait. Rats are smart and very cautious, so if you feed them for a few days and get them used to feeding on ramp, they are much more likely to fall in when you remove the anchor screw.Also, the magnet holding ramp up is pretty weak. Should work fine for mice, but not rats.I really detest flagrant false advertising and wish Amazon would come down harder on sellers who practice this sort of thing. Tiresome...

I am thankful the delivery driver followed the delivery instructions. I was able to attach the device with God's help. Thankfully the directions are able to be easily followed.

Unfortunately I did not read the reviews before ordering this, since we saw how well this Rat Trap worked on a YouTube video. Upon delivery, we received the smaller mouse trap version, not even close to the larger Rat & Squirrel trap that we ordered and desperately need. The box is not the same as pictured, and it came with very little instructions - mostly pictures. Normally, I would not write a bad review for this, chalking it up to an oversight error. But now I see that other reviewers also received the wrong item. I agree, it's false advertising! (And it took TWO weeks to receive.)

This is not the product described. It is clearly not USA made as it shows in the product description picture and it has Chinese writing on the product. It is not the same item as in the picture. Very cheaply made and in my opinion not worth the price paid. It may be ok for a mouse due to the smaller size but too small for rats. Due to the misleading description and deception it gets one star.
