Everyone should have this for Emergencies
This is a wonderful product and it works very well.My father is on blood thinners for medical reasons and also has multiple blood conditions. So if he starts to bleed, for any reason, it can be almost impossible to stop. Some minor injuries bleed and weep for days before they finally scab over. Other injuries, which most would still consider minor, require trips to the E.R. I have purchased all types of bandages and product to help promote coagulation and slow/stop bleeding. Celox is the best out of everything I have tried.Simply put, when nothing else works I always know that Celox will get the job done and stop the bleeding.Celox is always my final option, because Celox creates a "plug" that is not intended to be left in place permanently. Celox should be removed from the wound within 24 hours. So a trip to the doctor/E.R. may still be required as bleeding may resume when the plug is removed. However, Celox can buy valuable time and in an emergency situation it is very effective at stopping bleeding despite a variety of conditions.Read about this product yourself. Necessary for all out door adventures.
For wounds that blead a lot, this is necessary to stop the bleeding. Any time you are in the back country and away from professional medical attention you need this. I never go into the back country with out this in my first aid kit. This brand is used by U.S. medics in the military. A solders life depends on it, so It has to work. I used it on a friend who had a large deep cut that would not stop bleeding a lot. I followed the directions. I then used a compression bandage on top the Hemostat crystals and it work great!. He was then able to carefully hike for four more hours until we got to the trail head and drove him to the hospital. He needed Twelve stiches. The doctor said that with out using the Hemostat crystals there was a chance he could have blead to death. It saved his life.

Product lacking information and use
What a total waste of money, items were so tiny that a septic pencil used for shaving would be as effective. I purchased this in order to stop any accidental bleeding in case of a tumor that might accidentally burst on my pups head.Insuffisant description of items size and effectiveness....
