Envion - Ionic Pro CA200, Compact Air Purifier Tower For Rooms Up to 200 Sq. Ft. (Black)

Over a long period of time, the charging wire (corona wire) becomes rough and thin from corona discharge, and eventually it breaks. But that is no reason to throw out the unit. It's basically an efficient Truman Cell for collecting micron and submicron-sized particles, and I found it a valuable device for cleaning the room air. I bought an Envion Turbo years ago and it worked fine, but one day the charging wire broke while cleaning it, so I replaced it with a very narrow guitar string, but that made lots of noise and emitted a bit too much Ozone. Charging Wire thickness, and wire smoothness makes a big difference on these units. So I unplugged my Envion Turbo and stored it for several years. During that time, I had purchased a roll of gold-plated tungsten corona wire made for photocopiers, to fix my photocopier. It occurred to me that wire made for a photocopier charger might also work in an Envion Turbo and I was ready to either try the corona wire or junk the unit. It's a bit of work taking the unit apart but do it slowly and take pictures or make notes of how things fit together. There are tiny screws hidden along the vertical seam that holds the unit together, so look for them, rather than use brute force to break them apart. Well, installing the corona wire requires disassembling the unit, putting every screw in an envelope marked with its origin so I didn't end up with missing screws. I removed my old guitar string, replacing it with the corona wire, soldered the high voltage wire to it. It worked perfectly! Now the Envion is very quiet, no Ozone, and cleans the air like a new unit.

I got the Ionic Pro Compact about 2 weeks ago. I have a triple room which is the living, dining, and kitchen areas all together. When I got the ionizer, I put curtains up to close off this 3 room area from other parts of the house. I then put the purifier on my dining table which is somewhat the center of this space. The instructions said to place it at least 12 inches from a wall is why I decided on this spot. I just went through & cleaned these 3 rooms yesterday, along with cleaning my new Ionic Pro. I really can tell a difference in the quality of air. Used to I could see dust & dirt just floating around the rooms in the light. Abra Cadabra, like magic, the air looks & smells clear. Doesn't seem to be any scents in the air at all, clean or dirty. I like this very much! Especially seeing as how I have 3 large Labradors inside my home. It gets dirty very easily. I cleaned out my purifier after I finished cleaning the rooms & it actually had a film of dirt accumulated on it. It's very easy to clean. It says if you clean it with water, you must wait 24 hours for it to dry before putting back together. So, I just wiped it down with a dry paper towel & put back together then turn it back on. I love this thing!!! Next time I clean I bet it will be much easier with this great product cleaning the air for me. Works silently, perfectly & has both hi & low speeds. I leave mine on hi due to extreme dirt measures in my home from smoke & animals. I'd like to buy one for every room, but my other rooms are smaller, so maybe later I'll buy smaller room sized ones. So I give the Ionic Pro Compact air purifier a whopping 5 star review!

I had the larger version of this product previously. When it croaked I replaced it with this version. It is small but the appearance is just like the picture. I clean it once a week and there is always plenty of dust and debris it had captured on the blades. It is efficient and easy to clean by simply pulling up on the blades and washing with soap and water. It comes already set up just plug it in and use it. My air quality and sleep quality have improved since using this purifier. It is very durable And would be difficult to break

This product size is for bedrooms. Does as expected cleans the air with an Ionic smell, making the room smell cleaner/clearer. Value for money it could be cheaper, so if it goes on sale grab it. Easy to clean. No worrying about filters to replace. Slightly damp cloth used to clean & it’s ready to go again.I use it throughout the night, it has been working great ever since I got it. Reminds of Shaper Image Ionic Air Purifier I had years ago but @ a much pricier cost. Also there’s no sound @ all just the smell like mentioned above.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Appeared to be a great product, it is! Works great for more than 200 sq feet. AIR FEELS AND SMELLS MUCH BETTER. WISH THE LIGHT WASN'T SO BRIGHT, I COVERED IT WITH A SMALL PIECE OF BLACK TAPE. WALA, PERFECT. 😁

llego dañado y lo voy a regresar pq le faltaban piezas y estaba todo empolvado como si hubiese estado en algún aparador la verdad es un mugrero no lo compre nadie eso es lo que merece una persona que envía material en mal estado y a sabiendas de que lo esta haciendo pq lo empacaron como si fuera nuevo y le faltan piezas ojala y nadie lo compre

update: one broke, wire snapped and Envion replaced it; had bought two more, one replaced, so now I have 5 ionic Pro running in my 700 sq ft apartment. Now here is the thing, over the last couple of years I seem to have develop COPD which is a lot of phlegm in my chest and during a bout of coughing up a lot of phlegm one night (bear with me on this story) I turned off my bedside Ionic pro and my irritated coughing stopped immediately, so I turned off all 5 of my ionic pros thinking that perhaps that it was an ionic ozone irritation and I just kept my two Dyson Air purifier on. It did seem better for awhile and than one day, once again my COPD returned and as I sat in front of my Dyson Air purifier I could feel the mucus/phlegm running down my breathing tube (could be just nasal drip from allergies) and I could feel myself all choked up. Turned off my Dyson Air Purifier and voila... I felt much better? is it Allergens in the air being pushed around by the air purifier? SOOO I turned off both Air Purifier and out of desperation I turned all 5 Ionic Pros back on (3 in the living room, 1 in the hallway and 1 beside my bed) and for the last two days, I can finally breath again. My COPD (self diagnosed COPD) cleared up and is gone and I am giving credits back to the Ionic Pros. It could be psychological but it does seem that the ionic pros are doing something; perhaps eliminating dust, dust mites and other dander floating in the air. Also without the Dyson Air Purifier running 24/7 my apartment is SOOOO quiet now with absolutely no noise from all 5 ionic pro running 24/7. As to the blue light I use black electrical tape to cover the light. Also I read that people have been having a tough time cleaning the blades, well I just use Sunlight dish washing detergent and my fingers to swipe up and down the blades until clean. No soaking just like washing the dishes and the sticky grime comes clean with Sunlight dish washing detergent just like all my greasy pots and pans. I am breathing fine today all thanks to the ionic Pros. As a side note, I will still keep my Dyson Air purifiers around but probably not blowing into my face which I thought for several years were theurapuetic but it turns out that it was the ionic pros that did the heavy air purification and the dyson air purifier was just pushing the ions around. Original Review: I use to have 3 sharper Image ionic Breeze and when I heard about the ozone generator I sold all my ionic breeze and this was almost a decade ago. However I really miss the freshness of an ionic generator and it seems it is coming back in fashion without the ozone generator. In fact I have been running my 3 new Environ Ionic Pro compact 24/7 and I don't smell any ozone at all however I had an ion tester and for sure these ionizers do produce a lot of negative ions. I have a lot of allergies combined with asthma and after running these ionic pro ion generator I haven't had any snuffy nose nor any asthma symptoms. I also have the Dyson hot-cool air purifier which does the rest of the job. Cannot have too many air purifier especially in the hay fever month. I have also tried those ion plug ins but they are not worth the money because although they seem to generate the ions, they are stuck on the device itself. I ran my ion tester against the wall plug versions and there were no negative ions in the air but if you touch the ion tester to the nods the tester would shoot up to the max. The envois Ionic Pro produces negative ions that the tester can measure without have to touch any nodes. The air is full of negative ions and you can feel the energy in the air. If you are looking for a good ion generator, this is it.... the only real ionic breeze replacement without the ozone. I have 3 of these and I'll never sell mine again.
