We have an older home with thicker wires and you have to use the quick install via plate connection for those plugs that are part of a chain. I will say call out that I did have 3 of 9 defective with USB ports. They either stopped working or would hold the connection.

These outlets are BIG! They slide into a typical 2"x3" box without much room to spare. They should be in a typical 2 1/2" deep or deeper box. If you have a metal box with armored conduit coming into anywhere other than the back of the box, it will not go into the box far enough for the cover to be flush. My box has the metal wire clamp in the bottom of the box and it stops the unit from going into the box as far as it should. These outlets are a hair under 2"x3" in width and height. You also cannot wrap the unit with electrical tape to cover the connection screws because there are air vents all around the device. It does work very well after being installed although the tamper resistant slots are a bit finicky.

These are a nice addition and very convenient. They are very bulky though so installing is a little anything but not terrible. I took off a star because 1 of them came broken.
