Durable and comfortable
These are my go to boots for EMS, I'm on my third pair. They're easy to slip on and off, you don't have to deal with zippers, they're not too heavy and clunky like a lot of other options and I like that they are low rather than go halfway up my leg, nicer for the summer heat. They're pretty comfortable to wear all day.One thing of note is you need to break them in. Every pair I have gotten have been tight across the top of my foot. I've never had this problem with any other shoe. It may be in part because I have high arches, but after a few days of breaking in and stretching them out they fit great. They're very durable and easy to hose off. Keep my feet dry, no leaking and no laces of zippers for any type of fluid (water, mud, blood, whatever) to get in. I've kept my last pairs for over two years a piece and they probably could have lasted longer, but my work provided a stipend for new ones annually so every other year I get a new pair. I figure at some point they're contaminated enough and eventually you scratch up the toes to a point that it still won't look perfect after a polish.I'm an 8 to 8.5 in women's and I get the 6.5 in men's.

These are just as durable and significantly more comfortable than the Redbacks
I waited quite a while to write this review because I wanted to be able to give a long-term review. Before these boots, I wore Redbacks for the previous 8 years. These are just as durable and significantly more comfortable than the Redbacks. The only thing that took a while to adjust to is the placement of the elastic in these vs. the Redbacks. These aren't as easy to slip on due to this difference. Once they are on though, there is no comparison. They fit nice and snug, not too tight. They are easy to remove quickly. The soles seem quite durable, with no uneven wear. I will be purchasing these from now on.

like them
these boots are comfortable and well made. They are easy to put on and take off. I was worried they would be a problem while running but they are not. good boot great price. If you are a military guy would does not enjoy circulation in your feet these boots are not for you. These are loose fit boots.

Nice boots
I didn't know what to expect from these boots when I ordered them. Well they're pretty nice. They're a little looser on my feet then what I'm used to, but I have always had lace-up boots. They seem to run a little big so you might want to find a 5.11 store and try on some before you by. They are really comfortable I wear them on 24 hr shifts at the EMS company I work at. I would definitely recommend trying these.

I have enough to worry about, but never my feet.
I utilize these boots for work as a Paramedic. I hate tying shoe laces, one because I am lazy (I'll admit it) and two because I work in a fire station 75% of the time so I am able to take my boots off and relax a little between runs. I typically work >12 hours on the ambulance the other 25% of the time but I can not complain about being uncomfortable when they are on for this duration. They are waterproof, the traction is acceptable, I find them to be flexible enough to run in. I typically do not wear long socks, but rather the short ankle socks and they are comfortable in these as well, however break them in first before you start to do this as initially the leather is pretty stiff. (Break in period was about one week of shifts). Otherwise they are comfortable. I purchased them in wide and the width is comfortable for those of you who may have a wide foot (mine is 2E). Stay safe everyone!

Comfortable after break in period.
I have been wearing this boot for at least ten years. I think I am on pair #5 or 6. After the initial break in phase they are super comfortable. It takes about two weeks to get the elastic section to adjust to my foot. They wear well and are easy to take on and off. I've worn them on 12 shifts, working events when I was on my feet for 6 or 7 hours and at the end of the day, my feet may be tired but they do not hurt.

Too tight
I love the 511 brand but I feel like they let me down with this one. I bought my normal boot size (9.5) and fresh out of the box couldn’t get them on my feet. After some forcing (and a bit of cutting) I got past the extremely tight elastic and found the size to be right. My toes were comfortable the width was good but the boot was way too tight on the top of my foot. I tried wearing them to loosen them up and maybe break them in but after a 12hr shift I found that to be impossible. At the end of the day it seem like a great idea but just didn’t work for me.

Great boot
Very happy with these boots so far. In the past I have always warn bates composite toe boots with a zip up side they were very nice boots for the money, i seemed to have problems with the zipper breaking and the boots always felt very heavy this last time I ordered them i ordered the same size I always get and they were considerably bigger than my previous boots. After selling them I decided it was time to pick out something differant these 5.11 are a very light comfortable boot I can not talk about the durability yet because I have only owned them for one week. They look great and stay very secure to my feet and ankles. If they last as long as my bates did I will for sure be buying these every single time in the future.

Good station boot
Comfy work boots. I had no issues my first shift wearing them at the fire station, didn't have to break them in at all. They are a tiny bit hard to get on around the ankles for me, but still faster than shoelaces. Easy to kick off. My feet don't ache after wearing them all day. Overall a great purchase.

No safety toe. Not great quality as safety boot.
Advertised as a boot with a safety toe. Not acceptable for my academy. Disappointed from 5.11
