Cubii Slip Stop Mat, Locks Office Chair's Wheels, Active Standing Mat

The mat advertised that it would prevent sliding back when using a Cubii or other under desk exercise equipment. I can under ideal conditions. In my case, the way the surface "dots" were positioned they either provided no resistance to rolling backward or they made it almost impossible to correctly position your chair to use the equipment. Getting the office chair on the mat can be difficult. The mat begins to crumple at the edge as you roll the chair up to it. These ridges make it near impossible to get the chair on the mat unless you stand up and manually lift the chair on the mat. Then you have to try to figure out how to re-seat yourself after the chair is very close to the desk and can't be easily moved. Save your money.

The Cubii Jr really needed some help regarding my chair moving around. While it did work, it was difficult to use without holding on to the desk. This wasn't all that bad but it made using Cubii a very conscious effort - pedaling and hanging on to the desk. My hope had been that using Cubii would become 2nd nature, almost unnoticeable. Just sit at the desk and pedal away.This mat has achieved that for me. My chair doesn't move at all now - not even wiggle - and pedaling is much more comfortable and natural than it was. So that's a big win.At $60 there may be cheaper alternatives, but at least it works as advertised. Also be ready to leave the mat outside for a few days as it has a very heavy rubber smell to it.Would buy it again. Pedaling the whole time I wrote this...EDIT: 6 months later now and the unit is making noise when pedaling forward. Rather annoying in an office environment. Pedaling backwards still works quietly. Changing rating to 3 stars.

Beware, if you are in a closed off office space, your area will smell strongly of rubber. I'm going to have to take it home and wash it b/c it's super noticeable all day and gives me a headache. It's very inconvenient to take this home. Not really easy to roll up and carry out, if you know what I mean. Someone suggested setting it outside in the sun for a while. But I'm in a high rise office building. There is really no where to "set it outside"

I've only had it for a day, but it's a nice, solid mat and prevents my chair from sliding back. Added bonus - it is also nice to stand on when my desk is raised. However, the off-gassing odor of the rubber is pretty strong. I will definitely be looking for a way to get rid of the smell sooner than later.

So much better than this little wedges the machine comes with.

They show a picture of gym equipment instead of the whole actual matt so that people order thinking it's an exercise machine. Very wrong to do that. Why not show the actual image of it ?
