Very Frustrating to read - Please believe the One Star Reviews
I wish I had paid attention to the one star reviews before buying.Lesson: if someone bothers to give a book a one star review it means that the book made them angry enough to warn others.I have read quite a few of her books and enjoyed them so I didn't bother to read any reviews before buying. Big mistake. The other negative reviews are all correct and I agree with them and have more to add. The heroine is incredibly stupid and starves herself rather than confront her landlord. Also it was in such embarrassingly bad taste the WAY that this author wrote about the heroine and the hero's sexual fantasies and THEN reveals them? It was painful to read and so frustrating that I stopped reading the novel and started reading the reviews. Thankfully other people felt as disappointed as me about the standard of writing in this book.

Pornographic Trash
Reader beware. This book is full of gratuitous sex, and I didn't even get past the second chapter. The writing isn't even that good. Sheesh, what a waste of time.

SO BAD, IT IS INSULTING
I guess there are spoilers in here...not that it matters. The female, who is TSTL, allows herself to be extorted even though she does not have money to feed her child or herself. Does she say anything?? No...they will just starve. Then the whole adoption scene....seriously? They are not married, but the judge is going to award him joint custody? On what grounds? Then the whole corny conversation with Annie and the judge...uh huh, sure. Oh and let’s not forget the “rent a sniper” thread. Like I said, so bad, it is insulting. Sorry I paid for it.

Emily and the sisterhood bond
Susan Stoker brings us the story of struggling single mom Emily Grant and Delta Force soldier Cormac “Fletch” Fletcher.Fletch feels an instant connection to Emily and her daughter, Annie. He offers to rent the room above his garage to them, and for a while all is well until Emily is blackmailed by someone intent on doing harm.In this story, Susan Stoker brings us face-to-face with the lengths a mother will do to ensure the safety and well-being of her child. Blackmailed into giving away her hard-earned money, Emily would rather go hungry than see her child starve.Other people would see Emily's actions as an act of cowardice. Why did she keep on paying the blackmailer? Why did she not tell Fletch? Why would she let herself get sick, knowing that someone was threatening her and her child? Some would even go to the length of asking—why did Susan Stoker introduce such a weak character? Why did she create someone stupid enough to fold in the face of trouble? And Annie, she is just a child, why did Susan Stoker portray her as too worldly?I cannot, in all honesty, agree with those who would say that Emily was weak. She is not. Yes, most of us would have acted differently, given the same circumstance. But, and I say this mildly:In a perfect world, women are not considered the weaker race.In a perfect world, all of us women know how to fight. In a perfect world, women are accorded the same respect as men who demand respect. In a perfect world, women are given the same opportunities as men.In a perfect world, ALL women are allowed to speak up for themselves.I have fought against tyranny and oppression. I have stood toe-to-toe against a pastor who believed me too opinionated, one who insisted that my place was a few paces behind a man; that I should do nothing but obey and do what I am told to do.Fortunately, I was brought up to fight for what I believe, and knew, was right. I survived, and I can stand proud and say I can slug someone without an ounce of remorse if push comes to shove. Or when boundaries are breached and those who want to hurt me do so through those I love.People like Emily? We cannot honestly say they are weak for succumbing to pressure. In fact, I would say that they are by far stronger than some of us. Especially when there is a child involved. As a mother, a sister, an aunt or simply a friend—should we really just scoff when one of us needs our support our understanding and help, the most?Or should we be aware enough to tell them to not be afraid to reach out? To tell them that they are not alone.

FLETCH, EMILY AND ANNIE
Susan Stoker does it again. Rescuing Emily (Delta Force Heroes Book 2) is another amazing story and book. There are so many things to love about this book. There is Fletch and his hot self. Emily and her love and devotion to her daughter as well as how terrific she and Fletch are together. Of course there is the scene stealing adorable six year old going on thirty year old daughter Annie. Put the three of them together and they are such a beautiful family. Add in the members of Delta and Rayne and Mary and this was fabulous. There is a bit of angst which just about broke my heart, but Susan never lets me down so I pushed through. There was then more angst, but it was at that point I knew it would be okay, but as always it still was so interesting to see how it would unfold. I will also say that one of my favorite parts of this book was Annie and her interactions with the Delta team. I loved how she and Fletch were together, but I also loved how the guys fell completely in love with Annie. I will add without spoiling the specifics that her interactions with Truck were unforgettable. The bottom line is that if you love Susan Stoker's writing then you know you have to get this book. If you have never read her work then this is a great book to start with to read because you will love it. It is a standalone, but interconnected with the first book in this series. If you have never read her work I HIGHLY SUGGEST AND RECOMMEND that if you are able that you at least read the first book in the Delta Force Heroes series as it is such a wonderful book. If you are also able to read all of her books in her SEAL of Protection Series and Badge of Honor Texas Heroes Series because they are beyond excellent. For now you will be happy if you are just able to read Rescuing Emily. I read it without being able to put it down and I think you will feel the same.

Great book
What a lovely story Susan Stoker has written, I enjoyed every minute..Emily is a single parent trying to bring up her daughter, Annie, on very little money. She is rather timid except when it comes to protecting Annie and then she is like a tiger protecting her cub.She begins renting the apartment over a garage belonging to "Fletch" who is a member of an elite Delta military team. The chemistry between Emily and Fletch is apparent from the beginning but she begins to doubt him after a visit from one of his enemies.Emily and Annie are in grave danger, can Fletch and his team get to them in time ?I love the adoration and protective manner that Fletch shows toward Emily, I love the way he interacts and cherished Annie, a highly intelligent, witty six year old, I love the respect and the bonding that the Delta team have for one another, in fact I loved everything about this book and I can highly recommend it

2017 · edit it was amazing Poor Emily
Rescuing Emily (Delta Force Heroes, #2)by Susan Stoker (Goodreads Author)Wendy Hodges's reviewJun 29, 2017 · editit was amazingPoor Emily, she has had rotten luck where men are concerned. No wonder when she gets blackmailed she falls for it, trust is a hard thing for her to do. Fletch is awesome though, and soon takes to both her and Annie. Annie is adorable and I can see her being spoilt by all Fletch's team. This story shows how easy it is to be at cross purposes when communication isn't full or followed through, it causes all sorts of problems. An easy read you just don't want to put down, the characters are mostly loveable and easy to like. It is intense in places with some dramatic scenes, as well as the great chemistry that builds between Fletch and Emily as we move through the book. Annie is the star of this story in my eyes, she not only steals the heart of Fletch but the other members of the team and me as a reader. I can bet right now that when she grows up she is going into the Forces, maybe one day we will get her story something I would love. Susan manages to grab her readers form page one to the end, leave them wanting more every time. Each book leads into the next at the end so to get full enjoyment I do suggest you read in order and all the books, the characters also go on with into the other books as this is a Delta Force Team Series so you get some continuation throughout.

A great read
I love Susan's Delta force, I mean who wouldn't want a possessive Alpha male to take care of you and to look out for you. Cormac Fletcher is part of the elite. Doing what must be done to fight the bad guys. Emily is struggling but moves into Cormacs's apartment above his garage to save money for her and her little girl Annie. What can I say about Annie. She is adorable and OMG the things she says. Reading had me giggling at some of the things that came out of her mouth. All is well until a bad man who wants to take fletch and his team out comes out of the woodwork to blackmail Emily. When things turn bad it's up to Fletch and the rest of the Delta's to succeed again and take the enemy down. Will they rescue Emily and sweet little Annie in time? Can they stick to their promise of not killing the bad guy? I would recommend these books if you love military reads.

AWESOME
I received this ARC for an honest review This is the 2nd book in the Delta forces series that started with Ghost and Rayne this is Fletch's and Emily story.Fletch decides to rent the apartment above his garage to Emily and Her precocious Daughter at a very low price they have to have a mutual attraction for each other which they're just starting to explore.when Fletcher is called away on a mission Emily gets visitor claiming to be a friend of Fletch's who Fletch owes money to and now she has been told the reason her rent is low is because that she has to pay the visitor implies fletch made this arrangements and threatens that if she confronts fletch her daughter would be in danger, believing fletch now to be a bad guy she agrees to pay.on Fletcher's return he notices how Emily is now cold and distant towards him and avoids him at every turn determined to not let this happen he tries to confront her but a miscommunication in the conversation leads Emily to further believe that he is the bad guy she thinks he is. Disappointed and sad that she once again has bad judgement she continues to pay the blackmailer.Fletch beliving that Emily now has a boyfriend is gutted.Things comes to a head when Emily collapses. But with the misunderstanding behind them Danger still lurks. This is an awesome read. Annie is my hero absolutely loved her. This is a must read.

Good, well written story
Emily finds herself renting an apartment from a soldier. She has no idea that the handsome Fletch is in Delta Force and that in his last training exercise another team wasn't happy they lost against him. Jacks, the leader from that team wants revenge and picks Emily to start the ball rolling. It isn't until she becomes ill that Fletch finds out she's been blackmailed and then there is more danger to come.
