works good, easy set up.
it seems to drain the batteries in the collar fast other than that it works great. The ground here is frozen so I have the wire above ground now, the wire that comes with the system is very thin and not very strong so it has snapped a few times. It is easy to splice and of course this will not be an issue once I burry it in the spring. quick and fast set up is really nice. The only thing I wish it had as an option was to change the signal channel, it seems to pick up some interferance from other cables burried in my yard, the water meter in particular. I am sure this would be an issue with any system; however, I do wonder if it would be fixed wih the option to change signal channels.

Good for smart dogs. Does what you expect! Small gauge wiring, so be careful. Works well above ground.
Let's be honest: You're buying this because of the price, right? And you're going to get what you expect. It will work for you and you will be happy for that. It works, it works well so far (10 days in), and we haven't had an escape since installing it.That being said: For the price, I think this product does exactly what it is advertised to do. There is AMPLE wiring, which you may need because it is small gauge wiring, therefore it could break or be bent and you'll need to replace some of it throughout time. I highly suggest getting a waterproof splicing kit (10 bucks on amazon) to help yourself out.We DID NOT put this under ground, as suggested, but rather on the outside of our fencing. We put one loop on the ground, then looped it up and went on top of the fence.YOU MAY WANT: to buy additional (and larger) flags to help your dog see where his/her boundary is. The "professional" fences come with better flags than this one does, which is more idea.It took only a few days for my dog to 1) realize where he can and cannot go, and 2) to become comfortable being in the yard again. (I didn't show him very well where he can and cannot go... oops!!!!!)The black power box is NOT weather resistant, so it MUST go inside/in a waterproof housing. We have it inside our basement, and have the wires twisted to cancel out the electromagnetic field so the dog can go past it.SHOCK-WISE: I tested it on myself... you get a noise first, then a small and more and more intense shock. My dog is 70 LBS and this gives him enough of a zap (or he stayed in the zone too long) to make him hop backwards. When you DIAL-UP the powerbox, it seems to increase the radius of the electromagnetic (AKA SHOCKING ZONE), but I don't THINK (NOT SURE!) if it changes the intensity of the shock. MOST other products have the ability to have it just make noise and just shock and do both. I'm NOT SURE if this product does that, because I have not played with that.I give this 4-stars because it does exactly what it should do for us. I don't know how long it will last, but at least he quickly learned where he CAN and CANNOT go.THIS WEEKEND: we are changing the fencing and allowing the dog to have more room...it may be confusing at first, but we'll see how quickly he adapts.I'd buy this again and suggest it to other folks who have a smart dog. 4/5 stars so far!

Not good too much!
Well…they say: “you get what you pay for”.IMHO: Not true with this one. Scrap plastic is pretty cheap. There certainly wasn’t $50 worth of scrap plastic in the box!I read the reviews. Most seem to have an “issue with the wire”.Wire I have, so I took a chance!BTW: The wire supplied with this is “wire wrap wire”. Single strand normally used “inside” old school electronics. (like 30/40 gauge). No way is this intended for direct burial! It’s a joke. I had my own 12 gauge stranded wire installed already.Next problem: Nice that someone slapped a little “add-on” sticker on the box that says:“Two collars included”. Would have been nicer had they actually put 2 in the box.Mine came with one.Installation was easy. Installed the “extra heavy” china made battery in the collar.(Note: seemed to “weigh” about the same as regular 9volt …LOL)Instructions were an entertaining read! An interesting translation of engrish to be least of said to for you! Much like have conversation with Yoda. Mean what I know you like now? LMAOWe have fenced yard so the only area we needed this for was for about 30’ in front of garage doors.(As of late dawg has been bolting soon as we open garage doors when we get home or leave for work.)Tested collar and set up “width of field” with it off of dog. This turned out to be somewhat difficult as it activated in a different place every time I entered the field without making any adjustment to transmitter! The “correction signal” was very week. I feel it would have had no effect on my dog ….had it worked long enough to try it! (Had they given me a second collar I would have tried that as others did.) It didn’t take long to adjust because the transmitter quit working after about 10 minutes! Power supply led would come on steady green…but as soon as you turn on transmitter the led on wall wart would blink, and no lights on transmitter. Installed new (real-“mercian”) battery, made “test loop” and no difference.I would have to say the best part of the whole experience with this POS was the ease of obtaining a refund through Amazon! Ups picked it up the next day and my account was credited the same day.If you are looking for a fun “read” I highly recommend the manual that comes with this.I will also mention that my dog was somewhat entertained watching me install this in his dawg house (my garage).Other than that I would say look elsewhere if you want something that works!Post note: “Sunny Dawg” was more entertained with our UPS Man when he came to take this away. Ned gave him a puppy treat!
