If this was review was based solely on the item itself, it would be a 5 star. LOVE this little thing for nightly fan noise to help us sleep. Its compact, and travels well. However, this is now my SECOND LectroFan. The first one's cord ended up all messed up and I didn't like how it wasn't removable from the unit (surely it led to issues while it was transported on trips, etc). With the second purchase ...the cord IS removable and the carrying case is a great bonus. I was excited to see the removable cord when I opened the package. However, just a few months in, the unit's plug is loose and doesn't seem to want to stay in the outlet in the wall - so here i am again, after spending nearly $100 in total and I feel like I can't 'count' on the unit working at 100% every day. I have to play with the cord every night to get it to work. I am super disappointed since I am addicted to the fan noise on this machine.

I have bought 3 other white noise machines and found none of them satisfactory. At night I can hear the repeating loops and an undercurrent of very disturbing sounds in the white noise, This machine creates a sound and a volume for everyone. Some are pretty high pitched but some are just right for me. I found the noise to actually be soothing, not just masking. I am looking forward to taking this with me on vacation next month. My wife is a very light sleeper and she hears any hotel sounds. The small size and the sturdy travel case will make it easy to slip into my suitcase. My wife works nights in a hospital and sleeps during the day and this new machine is already giving better masking of highway sounds, barking dogs, kids playing, and any other disturbing noises she might hear. It is nice to feel good about a purchase. I'm glad I bought this.

This small simple machine is awesome. Good riddance to the half dozen or so noise machines of various sizes, prices and complexities my wife and I have owned over the years. We actually have noticed we sleep better with this one. I am glad I paid extra for the perfect fitting, protective travel case which I keep next to my travel shaving kit under the bathroom sink so I do not lose it in a drawer. Sleeping away from home is much easier when you can take the noise machine you normally use at home. If I traveled without my wife, I would definitely buy another one of these noise machines. Once you find the sound you like, it stays on that sound and all you have to do is turn on/off the power. Highly recommended!

Simply the best noise machine I have used. I have worked the graveyard shift for 15 years and rely on a noise machine to cancel out the busy street I live on as well as the normal noise of daytime activities. ( i.e landscaping and pedestrian traffic) The noise is seamless without any annoying looping sound. There are multiple fan and white noise selections. The array is very impressive and since there are so many variations, you might have difficulty trying to decide which noise to choose. If you are looking for the bubbling brook or the ocean, then look elsewhere. But if you are like me and white noise is your choice, you will not find a better product.

Brilliant little machine! After searching for the old-fashioned "loud" box fans (I sleep via white noise), I nearly gave up due to the new "whisper quiet" fans now being manufactured. I was elated to find a noise machine that could mimic the original box fans.This baby does exactly what it promises! When used in unison with the new "quiet" fans, you will get the best sleep of your life!Don't hesitate to get this baby!

This is the 5th different white noise generator my wife and I have used and this product is easily the most versatile. With 20 different types of sounds to choose from and then adjusting the sound of your choice with the volume control, there has to be one setting at the minimum that will please the user. We also bought a mini surge protector/extra outlet as most hotels never have adequate outlets for the nightstand between beds which makes using this small product sound very big when its only a couple of feet away from your ears. Drowns out all typical annoying hotel sounds...people, cars, elevators, soda machines etc. Travel case is awesome as well. Couldn't possibly be happier with this product. Promotes soothing restful sleep, even in a strange bed on a roadtrip.

This machine is wonderful. I bought it on a whim because we were flying to Vegas and couldn't take our box fan. My husband grew up with one and now can't sleep without it. Unfortunately, the new models are getting quieter and quieter.I, on the other hand, have always considered myself a heavy sleeper. However, I am not a 'good' sleeper and I take Lunesta to sleep through the night. Even with medication, I wake up several times a night but go right back to sleep. Years ago, my house flooded and they brought in those huge industrial fans. There were 5 in my bedroom and they were so loud we couldn't scream over them. That was probably the best night's sleep I've ever had.This sound machine bought me back to when my house flooded. I am getting the best night's sleep I've had in years. I've been taking Lunesta every night for 3 years and now I may try to come off it. Turns out that I'm a light sleeper who needs loud noise (thunder, hard rain, sound machine) to drown out the quiet ones (animals, kids, tv) that wake me up.I may buy another for my husband's nightstand so we can have consistent noise regardless of which way we are facing. Plus, I am taking this one with me when I travel for work so my husband will be SOL. And he will notice too because this thing way drowns out the box fan completely. We have it on the loudest fan at the highest volume. I'm gonna try a white noise next week when I'm alone. Hubby said it reminds him of Poltergeist but I might like it.
