Stripped: When God's Call Turns From "Yes!" to "Why Me?"

This is a great book and very easy read. Lina does seem to be redundant with different information but it is such great information, that is easy to not make a big deal about. It really talks about how the Lord prunes us ('strips us') of things in our life (whether character issues, people, etc.) that hinder us from being closer to Him and following our calling. Lina is very transparent with her life and her own flaws with many examples and stories. She is very authentic. I lead a ladies group and we read this book along with watching her free summarized video series (that goes along with the book) via RightNow Media on online. All the ladies in the group loved this content. Thanks Lina!

Stripped draws you in to reflect upon the question we all must answer, "Is the Lord first in my life, above all my own desires and wants." Thank you Lina for all scriptural references to draw me into Gods Word and see His love for me, for us. Addressing those times of the Wilderness as a time to embrace and be silent listen for Gods voice and be deep in His Word. This book I cannot put down by having scriptures draws me deeper into Gods Word to learn more of Him and what He desires for my life not what I desire.Thank you for your genuine openness of your own personal struggles and just keeping it real. Keep Writing and Keep Teaching!!

I can relate to Lina's experience as I continue to be in my own season of stripping. It is a process that started over 10 years ago when I said yes to leaving a great paying job to go into full time ministry. It has been a painful time but have to say today that I am not the same person I was when the stripping started; today I am a content single lady that has come to see life as an adventure that you never know where God may take you. Very far from the need to be in control, independent, self-providing person I was. Thanks Lina for an amazing resource that makes sense of what the last 10 years of my life has been about!

Amazing book. I couldn't put it down after starting. This is a book I would keep and reread often. Changes your perspective of evaluating your heart and the way you pray in allowing God to really work in you and for his plan.

This is an amazingly practical book. Lina tells it like it is in black and white fashion, and yet there is vulnerability in her writing as she shares from her own experiences. The book is a great read with humor and meat. I have read it over and over because it rings true with the season of life I am in. I give it five stars....but I wish I could give it a 10!

Miss Abujamra tells what it means to live as a believer who sees himself/herself as a bond-servant of Christ. She uses scripture and applies it to her own life. Her transparency allows her to enter your own struggles with the hard truths -Luke 9:23 (NLT) “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me."

The author is obviously dedicated to her efforts and i recommend this well written and fast read to anyone interested in a life of service to the Lord. i'll be reading it a second time and refering to it often.
