Description of item
I thought that there were four grades used in Vermont to grade the syrup. Fancy, Grade A Medium Amber, Grade A Dark Amber and Grade B. The write up for this item did not use the word medium in its description of the color amber. It only said amber color. I expected a lighter color syrup than what I received. The description of amber color rather than medium amber color was misleading to me. The syrup, however, is very good on pancakes.

My Favorite Organic Maple Syrup
It's the rich flavor and thick flowing amber that attract me to this syrup. It is my syrup of choice for topping waffles, french toast and pancakes. Coombs Family Farms syrup reminds me most closely of the real old fashioned maple syrup we enjoyed during childhood.I buy this one and the one from Hidden Springs, both from Amazon, taking advantage of Prime service. Hidden is my choice for flavoring light fruits, and Coombs is what I use when I want the authentic taste and feel of the thick syrup. It's gorgeous and has a double featured bonus.Maple syrup is my choice of syrup for pouring right onto foods, even on tapioca or gluten free puddings I make with stevia. I've made my own version of a boiled frosting by reducing Coombs syrup to a hot thick soft ball stage (by boiling), when dropped into ice water --- and then drizzling into well whipped egg whites. A fluffy delight that can either be the topping for fruit or the pudding (maybe 1/4Cup worth) topped with fruit or even chocolate.

My taste buds LOVE this stuff
Dare I say this? I will! This is the best maple syrup I have ever tasted. We've been using Stowe Maple Products maple syrup for the last two years, given to us by my sister who ordered it directly from the source. So Stowe was what I was looking for when I "Amazoned" for our next little keg. Unfortunately, Stowe isn't sold on Amazon so after carefully searching and reading reviews I ordered Coombs Family. Wow! I'm sold. To me, this tastes better than Stowe. I'm not a Maple syrup aficionado (apart from know I like pure maple syrup); I can only attest to what my taste buds get a bang out of. Coombs Family Farm is definitely it for me.

Faint Maple Taste and A Little Runny
I have always purchased Grade A dark amber Maple syrup from local Kroger and have really come to love the taste of it. However that brand is relatively expensive and I was thinking this organic version would taste as good but I was wrong. This version is thin and watery and does not have much of Maple taste to it.Since my supply ran out I have have gone back to purchasing the Kroger version pending when I will find alternative in the amazon subscribe & Save store. In the mean time I will try the 'Coombs Grade A Dark Amber' for comparison. I use it in my breakfast oatmeal and Green Tea.

Great Product!
At first when I tried it, I will admit I didn't like it, but I decided to keep using it because I had purchased 32 ounces of it and because there was no way I was going back to all the additives of Log Cabin and Aunt Jemima. I'm so glad I did! I now use it over my pancakes and in my completely organic homemade maple and brown sugar oatmeal. So, for me it was an acquired taste. Before I switched, when I'd make pancakes, I'd gain weight, but now, using this syrup, I don't. I guess my body only reacts well to real food.

Good maple taste without overpowering sweetness
Nice combination of mild sweetness with a medium maple taste. I've used this product for years and it has been consistently good. I recently tried their Grade B syrup and it was terrible, inspiring me to come back to this one and write a positive review on it.Years later I come back to this review and changed it to a 5. The product has consistently been the best syrup I've tasted. What was I thinking to only give it 4 stars?

I am loving it ..........
I selected the Grade A medium Amber for my maple Syrup this time. I wanted it to get through my pancakes and waffles more quickly. ...and this was perfect !It allows me more control of the amount of syrup thats going on my plate. The thicker one is just as good --but I wanted a quicker delivery !Maple taste is still great---though thinner !The plastic container is so sanitary and safe from breakage. Its easy to clean up as well...a quick wipe will take care of everything.I have nothing to give this a negative on ---so I have given it top ratings !

Our favorite maple syrup
Forgive me syrup, I thought you were too expensive and purchased another brand. I am filled with regret, for you are truly worth the money. You are better than even the Whole Foods branded one. Even though my parents live near Chardon, OH in the maple syrup capitol of the world, you are better than any that their friends make who have little businesses. Why is it that you taste more like maple than all of these others? I don't know, but others taste cloyingly sweet and flavorless by comparison.
