This book is great. Although if you are looking for depth in terms of knowledge about all the different materials used in Interior design, this is not your book. This book gives and overview of materials with explanations. It also has other subjects that is not strictly about materials, but can be linked to it, like site analysis, brief or models. I would say it is a great starting point, but if you are interested in interior design more than just as a hobby, then further reading will be necessary.
