Great so far!
Just opened the box today after opting for expedited shipping so I could install while on vacation and have no "high quality brass spigot" as listed on the advertised main page.I'll update with my experience trying to obtain this missing part as well as installation (once missing part arrives) and further once barrel is in use for a while.Update (same day as receipt): seems Amazon disavows the product once it's shipped. I'm on my own to contact the manufacturer for the part; which I am in the process of doing.Update 2 (minutes after contacting manufacturer): HOLY MOLY! talk about super speedy customer service! this rain barrel is for our lake house; I don't have cell service or land line out here so I had to rely on contacting customer service through their online "contact us" form from their website. Those always take a good 48 hour churn before anyone sees it. I had a response within minutes of hitting send - this on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm. Impressive!!!! This is our first rain barrel; however we have an immense property that we plan to set up a network of barrels...I believe they just got our business for all future barrels - provided this works as well and holds up as expected! More updates to come!!!Update 3: customer service is awesome...I am now 2 days past having received the product with the spigot missing and just received an email with the FedEx tracking number for the replacement part.

Great Barrel For The Price
My YouTube review can be found here: [...]. I am writing this review after just having ordered by second of this exact barrel. This brand and model was the first rain barrel I had ever owned, My primary use for it being to water garden plants and flowers during the hotter months when rain becomes less frequent.I constructed my own stand for this using treated wood and adding a shelf to the stand for water cans and what nots. I opted not to use one of the plastic stands that goes with this barrel found on Amazon simply because it really didn't raise the barrel that high off the ground, which doesn't really help with water pressure and with filling larger water cans. This item was pretty much ready to go right out of the box with the exception of having to attach the spigot to the barrel. Included was a small roll of plumbers tape to add to the threads of the spigot to make it more water tight. The spigot went in fairly easily and fits very firmly in place. Its a solid brass spigot and looks to be very sturdy. After a week the barrel was full from constant rain and I have had no problems with leaks at all. My first barrel has been in use for about a month now, 90% of that time filled with water. The overflow nipples do not have a hose attached to them and don't appear to have a place to attach one. The water simply drips out the back. They are similar to the large one that is depicted in the products photo on the front in the center, only smaller. I'm not sure what the one depicted on the product photo is for, it is not punched on my barrel. Its simply there. My only complaint about this barrel concerns the diverter that comes with the package. I cut my downspout and attached the diverter without any problems. I looked at the internal workings and couldn't imagine that it was going to actually divert water to the barrel but it does perfectly. However, the hose that is included with this barrel is completely worthless, The hose is rigid and comes folded into the diverter box. The plastic used on the hose holds the memory of the folding making the hose pinches in a few places. I actually went to Loews and purchased a hose used for dish washer discharge. This hose fit perfectly and was flexible. Not really happy I had to go and purchase an additional item for this product since it should have been ready to go, but the additional cost was under $8 so I'm not going to let that effect my 5 star rating. If your in need of a rain barrel I highly recommend this one. I'm a firm believer of staying with what works, hence my purchase of a second one of this exact barrel.

Good product
This truly was easy to install. I used the diverter kit with no issues. A tape measure and a hacksaw is all that was required. just something to bear in mind, if you intend to set up a "soaker hose" style arrangement on it (as I did). you might want to make sure you have sufficient elevation to create enough pressure. I have mine on some blocks that place the faucet about 6 inches above the hose spread, that works fine. If the faucet is level with the hose you wont get much drip.

Product = Great Shipping = Not so much
Installed with great ease (did not use the diverter kit) and it works great. However, the barrel was not packaged very well and the water grill was cracked. Good Ideas replaced it with a new one.. that did not have holes for the screws in it for some reason. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who wants to start collecting water for gardening. Make sure you have some stones to raise it up so you can get enough clearance for a watering can.

These work best if you place them on stones/blocks off the ground
These work best if you place them on stones/blocks off the ground. Otherwise, there is not enough space to hook up a hose.

Good Ideas Rain Barrel & Diverter Kit
Product arrived quickly and intact. It took all of about 15 minutes to fully install the entire kit. I installed one kit last fall and have since saved over 500 gallons of water. I just installed a second one last week. Instructions were clear and concise. A minimal amount of tools is required to complete the job(a phillips head screwdriver, a hacksaw and a knife). Everything works great, I see no apparent design flaws but i would recommend that you buy the mosquito larva rings and cut them into quarters to put inside the barrel once a month to control the bugs during the summer months.

Quality rain barrel with many attachments that provide placement flexibility
The rain barrel is exactly what I needed. I put one of the water valves that were enclosed at the half way point up the barrel and attached a hose with holes in it. I can now open the valve and water my flower bed. The down spout attachment enclosed does a great job of removing trash from the water as the water enters the barrel. A most novel idea for an attachment. More than met my expectations.
