American Hunter Vg-55 Varmint Guard for 55 Gallon Barrel

This is the only varmint guard that really works at our game ranch. I don't use the hardware provided, but instead cut a square hole in the bottom & make a corral panel & re-bar trap door to access the spinner. Drill holes in the bottom lip of the barrel & wire it to the cage, and your critter proof. This cage is slightly bigger than the barrel & critters don't have this long of reach.

This guard is almost too big for the bottom of a 55 gal feeder. You will need help holding it and screwing it on because you have no room for error. Seems fine once installed.

The large cage keeps the coons from spinning the spinner on the timer. The deer get the corn instead of the coons. The small cages allow the coon to reach in and spin the spinner on the timer. Quit feeding the coons, get an American Hunter Varmint Guard for your 55 gallon feeder. You will be glad you did at the price of corn.

The item shipped is NOT what is pictured. The round varmit guard is what was ordered to function with the sun slinger. What arrived is square and does not function with the sun slinger

SO FAR SO GOOD. SO FAR THE VARMINTS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE HOW TO GET TO THE CORN.. HAS ALREADY PAID FOR IT'S SELF.VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT AND WOULD TELL A FRIEND ABOUT IT.WISH IT HAD A BETTER WAY TO MOUNT IT TO FEEDER.

This cage works great. Haven't had one raccoon problem since installing on my feeder. I highly recommend!

Works great ..I have had a few coons hang on it but they could not reach the feed.Cons...needs to be a stronger metal, eventually they will rip it open they always do
