In one month our family of 5 has used this about 10 times.
Excellent product for a family of 5, myself husband and my three children ager 9,4, and 1.Pros:lightweighthas a travel set up so it just looks like you are carrying a lawn chair.the option for filling the sandbag pouches as an anchor Instead of spikes.VERY Spacious!!the setup is super easy my husband did it in less than 5mins.the window traps can be adjusted open or closed. Multiple window flaps.the upper portion has a built in mesh pocket area. we frequently store things in it Wallets/ cellphones and keys, pacifiers, hand sanitizer, ect...EASY EASY to take down.I really like it with our l yr. old I can sit him down and feed him in the tarped area and it stays pretty cool.We have used it peobably 20 times having recently moved to the Caribbean and so far it still looks and acts brand new.Lastly, I have only used it at the beach but I can see how it can be very versitile depending on what you are using it for.Cons:It can be a bit difficult to Brush all the sand out of the tarped section. (But my kids also thought it was funny to build a Sandcastle in it so you most likely wont have that ridiculous amount of sand in it.)My husbands only complaint is that he does not like the tarped bottom at all. That's more personal preference.I Will say I did purchase the extra extended floor tarp that zips on and we used it once the kids kept tripping, pulling and playing with it, that was a mistake/ headache. If you plan to use it with older children and adults I think the extra length could be awesome because if you start getting too hot you can move into the shadded part you can have a larger group near - in it.Please click if my review was helpful. I rely on reviews when purchasing via amazon and try my best to give through reviews for others.

... tent and the smaller model and we are extremely happy with both
We purchased both this tent and the smaller model and we are extremely happy with both. We plan to use this tent (XL) for the beach and the smaller tent for local fairs, festivals and airshows. I have attached a side-by-side comparison for your reference.

Fun in the Shade!
This tent exceeded my expectations! This tent shielded my entire family of 5! That's 3 children and 2 adults! My husband is 6 feet tall and he was able to sit comfortably inside. The shade from the tent also extended about another 3 feet out so it still covered the kids while playing in the sand! The set up and take down was very easy. The tent came with stakes to secure it from blowing away but you can also fill the side flaps attached to the tent with sand and have the same effect!

Works great!
We used this on our recent vacation in Florida. The tent is very easy to set up, but I highly recommend having 2 people so that one can hold it so it doesn't blow away! Also, bring gallon sized ziplock bags and put the sand in those prior to putting in the pockets on the tent, it makes tear down so much easier!

The stakes that come with it work great on the beach as well
My husband hates most beach tents/umbrellas(this is our third purchase) because they are a pain and fly away in our Caribbean weather... However this is a total breeze to put up and take down by yourself. The stakes that come with it work great on the beach as well.We live in the Caribbean and our beaches are very sandy and the breeze is strong. This tent holds up great (we put the beach bag and cooler in the tent for extra weight), it's super roomy (three kiddies, bags and still room for mom to get in and nurse). You should purchase a beach mat as an add on.

Bigger and Better than the XL
We compared this to the company's other product, the XL, and we're very happy we decided on this one.Don't be fooled by the photo, which lacks a point of reference. It is B I G !Compared to the XL, this has a larger floor space, taller ceiling, and better ventilation due to more airy design. It provides a ton of shaded area, which can be further adjusted using the separate side panel. It is incredibly light and compact when stored. And it sets up nearly instantly. Just unfold, push the center "button" up until it clicks into place, then either stake it down or fill the sandbags. Easy for one person to do.Tip: bring some 1 gallon zip lock bags. You can fill them with sand or water, then put them in the sand bag pouches. Easier to remove the weight and clean up when you're done.We really like the easy to install/remove side panel. This lets you open or close off a 2nd side for morning or evening sun, when the low sun requires more shade. This arrangement lets in more air and blocks less view than the more fully enclosed XL. Pacific Breeze says they plan on selling a 2nd side panel as an add on in the future, so you can enclose 3 sides if you want. But really, the sun wouldn't be on both sides. So that would be more useful for privacy or wind protection, rather than for additional shade. There is more than enough shade as it is.The zipper floor is pretty cool too. If you want, you can unzip it and roll it up, creating a shaded area where kids can dig in the sand, etc.Tent seems pretty durable. Material is strong, but light, and pretty easy to fold up when done.Only minor quibble, as with all products, is that it takes a bit of effort squeezing it back into the bag. Would prefer it if the bag was a bit more roomy, so that I didn't worry I was going to tear it. Maybe Pacific Breeze can address the bag in a future version.Overall, we got a lot of use out of this on our recent weeklong trip to Florida beaches. And we expect to use it for future beach trips, soccer games, trips to the lake or park, and even backyard play.

Easy to use, but not going to last long
I want to love this tent. It truly is the easiest beach tent we've ever had (and we've been through lots) and is very lightweight and easy to carry. We just took it to the beach where there are sustained winds of about 10-20 mph and it stayed in place and kept our ten-month old protected from the sun. But the catch - after using it for about 2 hours each day for six days, we started to notice that the seams along the bottom were coming unstitched and there were small tears in the fabric walls here and there. Same goes for the carrying bag - small tears showed up after a few uses despite only carrying it on our shoulder. This would absolutely get 5 stars from us if the fabric was tougher, but there's no way it's going to last through more than a couple of beach trips and that's disappointing.

A really terrific and well thought out product
I recently purchased the Pacific Breeze EasyUp Beach Tent Deluxe XL and couldn’t be happier. I spent a lot of time reviewing different options and really liked everything this one had to offer. It is a little more expensive than some of the other options available, but more than makes up for it with its great features. A few of the best features are:1. It is incredibly easy to set up and take down. Before I bought it, I went to their website and found a link showing the steps to set up and take down the tent (http://www.pacificbreezeproducts.com/#!videos/cd9h). I was expecting to be disappointed when I tried it out for myself, but they weren’t kidding, this really is the “EasyUp” beach tent. I was able to set it up in less than a minute and taking it down was almost as easy.2. It is lightweight and compact to travel with. It folds down to about 40 inches long and weighs about 6.5 pounds.3. They have three extra large windows to help provide a nice cross ventilation4. A large easy to access pocket to keep items like cell phones and keys stored and away from the sand.5. The beach tent comes with 5 sandpockets that work really well for windy conditions on the beach and 4 stakes to use on grass and dirt fields.6. A carrybag large enough that you don’t have to struggle to get the beach tent back in the bag after you’ve used it the first timeIt is clear that they company has really thought about this product. They’ve added a lot of nice features that I haven’t been able to find in other similar beach tents. Just as important, it is obvious this company really cares about their customers. A few weeks after I purchased the beach tent, I got a follow up email. I sent back a note saying how happy I am with my purchase expecting it to go to a junk mail box, but the next day I got a response back from the founder thanking me again for my purchase and asking me to reach out to them if I ever have questions or concerns.I couldn't be happier with my purchase and I am a big fan of Pacific Breeze Products.

Great for Traveling
On a recent trip to California, we didn't realize the sun would be so strong in late April. So when we were getting ready for a small vacation to Florida, I knew I needed to get some type of shade structure. We were traveling with our little dog, so we wanted to make sure he had shade after a swim in the ocean. Our criteria was to have something that could fit in a suitcase, light weight and easy to assemble. Well the Pacific Breeze fit the bell and then some!We have a large rolling duffle bag that is hard sided on one side, split departments, one below the other, and this tent fit perfectly inside it. We packed the tent and other accessories such as chairs into the bottom compartment, and our clothes on the top compartment. It does need to be a large bag, but it is airline regulated. We also packed some Heliox chairs, one is beach chair size, and the other was a standard size. I included a photo of our packing method and we did check the bag in. You can see in the picture, my husband sitting in the standard size. Both fit nicely but I wish it was just a tad taller over all.Once on the beach, the tent went up real easy. Within minutes we were set up and in the shade. I loved the all around windows that let us have a panoramic view but also let us close it up when the sun was beating down on us from the side.We got sand in it, but because it was so light weight, we were able to just pick it up, shake out sand from inside, and then pack it up. Packing up was just as easy. Nice to have a product fit in it's bag for once!!!I gave frour stars because I would have loved it to be just an inch or more taller. But that is my personal preference. I attached some pictures of what it looked like.

Love Love Love
I did A LOT of research before purchasing this beach shelter. We live in Florida, and every time we're at the beach I see plenty of examples of what NOT to buy! I had never seen anything like this, and I didn't want to spend over $100 on something we wouldn't find useful.I took my 2 y/o son for his first ever beach trip this May, and I am so glad we had this Pacific Breeze product with us! I practiced putting up and taking down the tent at home before using it; I easily did both myself! The most amazing part is that the tent goes easily back in the bag... EVERY TIME!! This beach shelter is very well constructed, super roomy, sturdy, and functional. The selling point for me was the retractable floor. The floor of the shelter easily unzips so that my son is still able to play in the sand while protected from the sun. Being a busy toddler, I know he would not have just sat under any other shelter to take a break from the sun. He was able to spread out with all his toys in the huge area of shaded sand provided by this beach shelter. Everyday people watched in amazement as I popped up the tent and then again when I took it down and rolled it up into the carrying bag... ALL BY MYSELF with toddler in tow! At least 5 people ask me where I purchased it every time we are at the beach. I can't say enough good things about this product and the customer service of Pacific Breeze. I'm so very glad I found and purchased this, and would recommend it to everyone!

Danger!!! Broken fiberglass rod splinters are no joke!!!
Dear Pacific Breeze,Please contact me. My family and I absolutely loved your product up until one of the fiberglass rods exploded. My wife now has fiberglass splinters in her hand. Can you please send a replacement rod with instructions on how to repair/replace the damaged rod? Thanks,Matt

Omg!! I love this tent!
I am SO glad we got this tent for our beach trip! I waited too late to order it before we left for our trip so I primed it to our beach location. It arrived the 2nd dat we were there and after watching a few YouTube videos on how to set up, we tried it out on Day 3. It was such a "breeze"...literally! So easy. Fold out the front two sections, pull the strings, and POP! Up it goes. It has a ton of space and we could fit 2 adults, 2 kids, and our stuff. I LOVE the front porch feature so you have lots of space to put stuff so it doesn't get sandy. And if you want to go walking and leave your tent....just zip it up! We didn't even need stakes to hold it down....the sandbags did the trick. And tear down was just as easy. It fit perfectly back in the carrying case no problem. We used it several times while at the beach and will definitely bring with us next year. I saw so many other families struggling with set up of their ginormous heavy tailgate tents and I just smiled as I took the lightweight carrying case from my shoulder, unfolded it, popped up in seconds, and was ready to enjoy our day. Yay for products that actually work!

Great Company, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.
I spent a lot of time researching beach tents. I was looking for something that was compact, lightweight and easy to use. I came across both this model and their regular version. The two looked very similar and I had a tough time figuring out the differences, so I called up their customer service and they were really helpful. They explained to me that the Deluxe XL version was about 10 inches longer and 5 inches taller. It has an added window for extra ventilation and a few other added benefits.I decided to go with the XL, because I liked the additional size and the extra window. When I received the tent, I had a few questions on how to properly open and collapse the item. I watched the video on their website but still wanted to make sure I was doing it correctly. I called up their customer service department again and they couldn’t be more thorough and attentive. The one thing they emphasized was to make sure you fully extend the leg extensions before popping open then tent. They walked me through the process to make sure I was able to get it right and never made me feel like I needed to rush. After I was successfully able to get my beach tent opened and closed, they spent a few extra minutes talking to me about the product and my first impressions. These days it is hard to find good customer service, but you definitely have it with this company. I wouldn’t hesitate to shop from them in the future because it is clear they really stand behind their product and they care about their customers.

BEST. TENT. EVER.
After opening the tent out of the cardboard box, I was happy to see that it didn't come with a bunch of pieces. It's literally bag...tent...tiny bag of stakes. I also loved that the (very simple) directions were sewn into the inside of the carrying case! I wanted to see just how "easy" this tent went up since it was a bit of a splurge to buy a tent this pricey for the beach. Sure enough, it goes up in literally 60 seconds! It's like an inverted umbrella. Just pull on the strings and the whole things pops up on its own hinges. NO POLES TO WORRY ABOUT!! You only have to snap down two legs that are already attached and you're DONE! My toddler crawled around inside and loved it. We are taking it to the beach tomorrow and I may write an update after it gets used in the elements.Taking it down was equally as easy. Just push down on the two pieces that have convenient yellow tags attached to them and the whole thing buckles down. I will also happily say that this is the ONLY product I have ever owned that FITS BACK IN THE BAG! Yaaaayyy! Most products come with carrying bags and we all know we can never contort them to get back on the bag. Not so with this tent. It easily collapses and you bunch up all of the fabric and tie it off with the included tie. It goes right into the tent bag with a little room to spare and zips shut. The size is quite large, exactly what I was hoping. You could fit 4 adults side by side in chairs across the front, or 2-3 adults pushed a bit farther back. It could easily fit 5 kids in it. I love that this is a family owned company and they appreciate your comments. Will post an update after I've given it a bit more use.
