Not going to repeat all the technical stuff that everyone has said, my review is simple. I've had this device for approx 10 days, love it. It feels a little cheap on the plastic side when you handle it, which is good in my case because it's lightweight. On my very 1st day using it, on the way to work, 5 min into my trip, I caught an SUV wrecking on an exit ramp in the distance that I never saw, but the camera got it, which I reviewed when I got to work playing. The glass mount is doing a great job, haven't tested it in high heat yet. Took me a bit to go through all the options, settled on 720p instead of 1080 because the 720p is great video itself and with 32GB memory, I can get a couple days video stored. very easy to plug into the PC and pull video off. The wide angle is awesome, covers so much from left to right of your vehicle. Overall, I'm very pleased so far, going to get a couple more for my other cars.

Well, as a carcam it works fine, but...CONS:* no looping over old recordings - unless I have a setting wrong, once the memory card is full, it cannot record anymore until it either gets cleared or formatted. This SHOULD NOT happen in a dashcam - do continous loop until I tell it to keep a recording.* Menus: I cannot get the time to set correctly - it seems that there is no way of selecting the next item - you get back or out.PROS:* its small* Long power cord* includes nice mountIf I had to buy it again, i might pass in order to look for a dashcam that does true continous recording. Otherwise, Its fine.

Had mine for about 3 weeks, in the car it would start up and start recording but after about 2-3 minutes the screen would go white and not respond, a hard reset would be required each time. I tried different Class 10 SD cards, I tried letting the camera format them. Sent it back. I have a BlackBox dashcam and that runs the same firmware as this camera, so it is probably identical in hardware. Those Blackbox camera's are known to either fail quickly or last a long time.The other thing I didn't like was the mount, it was big and dropped the camera really far down on the windshield even when all the way up top, it would be hard to hide this behind the rear view mirror. I did not find any other mounts for this camera, like you can with the blackbox and others. The suction cup is worthless if you have the black painted areas on your windshield like most cars do these days. With the blackbox camera there are double sided tape mount that work great and actually bring the camera up further to hide behind the mirror.The plug for the power in the car doesn't slide all the way in like you think it would, it is flimsy.No black colors, this sticks out like a sore thumb on the windshield. You want these cameras generally hidden so people don't see them and think it might be worthwhile to steal.

Update: HisGadet contacted me and sent a replacement mount which is now functioning without issue. I have noticed that the power button will no longer power down the unit, but the camera still works fine.After only about a months use the suction cup broke off. There is a plastic ring embedded into the suction cup which attaches it to the mount, this ring broke off in the suction cup rendering it useless.

UPDATE: Amy, a very professional, efficient rep from Hisgadget kindly replaced the broken piece. I received the part quickly and free of charge.Now I can say the camera works great! Nice quality for such a compact camera and easy to operate. I'll be buying another soon for my daughters car.

This is a great dash cam at this price range. Videos are clear for both day time and night time recordings. Quality of the pictures is superior (720px at 60fps), and yes I have used other dash cam before. Loop recording function is good, it takes my 32GB microSD card. The battery seems to work okay at this time of the year (spring) and so the set time is not lost. Don't know what will happen in the summer when it will be hot. If you connected the dash cam to the cigarette power outlet, the recording would be automatic when you start the car.I have not tried motion detection and shock activated recording function. Overall this is a great dash cam.

Looked cheap, felt cheap....bad build quality. Turned it on and there were horizontal lines running on the screen. Skip it...not worth the money. Sent it back!

The documentation is not great, but the camera functions well and is fairly simple to use. I do wish it has a thinner power cable, but a quick visit to monoprice.com fixed that.
