PERFECT BRUSH FOR SHAGGY!
Shaggy has very fine and unruly hair! When I brushed him in the past, you couldn’t tell he’d been brushed. A friend visited and I used his dog’s brush and was amazed. Also, I think Shaggy likes it better than his old brush .. he’s not as resistant when I use it! I’m very pleased!

The best
This has been the best brush I’ve found. I have aShih-tzu. It keeps the mats out but is easy on the skin. I highly recommend.

This works well with the comb and double-sided rake. I am very satisfied, and my dog seems to like this one.
I hadn't anticipated what a great dog grooming tool this would be. I used to have a Golden Retriever and tried using a slicker brush on him and he just hated it. He did well with a large sized Furminator, though. Now, I have an 8 month old Mini Goldendoodle that has super long hair and fur. He looks like a big puff ball. When I first got him, I read somewhere to use a steel comb. I did that, but it wasn't getting the tangles and mats out without really hurting my dog, and I gave it up for several months. Meantime, my dog developed a number of bad mats and a lot of tangles. I have enjoyed spending money on my dog, so I looked for a variety of dog grooming tools, and the first thing I tried out was Hertzko's "dematting comb with double-sided rake." I was able to remove a whole bunch of tangles and mats with it, but the rake does pull at the mats, and cuts through the hair. I wrote a review of it, and I really like it, but I was looking for something less aggressive, and found this slicker brush, after watching a bunch of videos on YouTube, where a couple of people showed how you can just slowly brush at a mat and get it to untangle, instead of going the aggressive route and pulling at it with a rake. The rake did an awesome job of removing most of the bad stuff, but this slicker is really finishing off the project of getting all the mats and tangles out after several months of not combing or brushing. My dog doesn't back away as much, and even seems to like it, sort of. He comes up and sniffs at it, then sits next to me, and doesn't seem to mind too much if I stroke his hair with this slicker. The slicker does not cut through hair. The ends of it are very flexible and won't hurt your dog, so long as you brush sideways and don't bring it down hard on his skin. The best use for it is to pick away at a bad mat until it starts falling apart. Then use the comb to get out loose hair from the spot where the mat was. You can also use the comb to get hair out of the slicker brush. So these three items are all that I need to groom my dog: the steel comb, the dematting rake, and the slicker. I chose to get Hertzko stuff because it looks solid, and I like the purple and gray color. I do all my dog grooming on the sofa, and just wait to get my dog sitting net to me, then I start using the tools. He jumps up and runs away sometimes, much less with the slicker. And he can get "bitey," but I'm trying to train him out of being bitey. The slicker, I should add, really makes your dog's hair look totally fluffy and flowing. But if your dog has any mats, the one thing you need to be aware of is that it takes time and patience to get them out. You may not be able to get them out in one sitting. For me, it's taken about ten days to get most of them out. So the thing to do is go slowly and get them out, and then resolve to spend time every day or as often as possible working with the tools to keep your dog mat-free. Please note: I did not get the Hertzko dog grooming tools for free! My review is only based on my own experiences with these tools, and I will update if I see any problem with any of them. One thing I will note is that I also bought the long-bladed rakes, but they are very sharp and they scare me. If you have a very patient dog maybe those would work for you. But these three tools - the comb, double-sided rake, and the slicker, seem to do everything I need to get my dog free of mats and tangles. I should also add that I didn't know the slicker brush was so "flexible"! It bends completely on both sides, which is different from most slickers that are stiff, and makes it really easy to use.

it works!
got this to detangle and get rid of all the knots of my 11 lb yorkie and shizu mix. She hated the comb I have and is much better with this brush. it works very well.

Hard working, strong brush
This brush plows through curly, thick coats. The handle is thick and padded and comfortable to use. Use the right amount of pressure with this strong tool. The word of caution is that when I used it on a dog with a skin condition, some areas bled a little.

Great for mini poodles and Yorkshire terriers
The flexibility of the brush helps to make brushing through the hair smoother. The pins are a little bit too short for longer hair.

Good brush for shedding.
This brush works well when my dog is shedding a lot of under coat. He’s comfortable when I brush him with it, even though he’s fussy and objects to other brushes like the furminator and slicker brushes.

1st slicker I have used on my Doodle that she doesn't object to...
So far I am happy with this although I have only used it a few times. Using a slicker on my Doodle's thick curly, wooly coat has always been somewhat of a struggle. I have spent too much money on slickers, including the Big G. With further use I'll know if it is really doing a good job of de-tangling and preventing mats. We keep her coat short, so I'm hopeful it will do the job.

Works well. As some previous brushes with pins have not lasted long before the pins start dropping out I have delayed this review for some months and now I can say this brush meets my high standards. Well done and I recommend this brush for both long and short haired dogs as I have one of each.

Brilliant brush!
I have a rough collie with a long, thick coat and this brush is the best I've used. I love that it's gentle on her skin but tough on her fur. If it can get through Tara's coat then it can get through anything. Very comfortable grip too. Excellent! I highly recommend it.

Highly recommended
Our greyhounds love this brush! It's amazing how much underfur the pin side removes, and they really appear to enjoy it , like a massage - keeping the brushing gentle as they are short haired. Best brush we've ever had.

Good quality brush just not right for our Siberian
Good for a quick brush but doesn't quite reach the underlayers of our gorgeous Siberian girl. Had another brush with two heights of pins which managed to reach the rugs but it needs replacing so will get another one of those. Great delivery and customer service, sadly not quite right for our girl with her three coats of fur.
