I love Sally and have made many recipes on her blog
I love Sally and have made many recipes on her blog. I have her first cookbook as well and I love it. However, I've been a little disappointed in this cookbook. I think her conversion to grams is off on a lot of her recipes. For example, her famous chocolate chip cookie recipe, when you compare it to the version in her other cookbook (which uses M&Ms instead and is for jumbo cookies, but otherwise it's the same), the measurements by cup are identical but my gram are totally off. I'm totally a scale baker and like to be precise but that's resulted in under floured, greasy cookies in this book. While I am sure I can just stop weighing the ingredients and go off the cup measurements instead, it's left me with some failed cookies. Maybe a new edition will be printed in the future with more accurate weight conversions.

Sally is the Cookie Lady!
Sally's blog has always been my go-to for desserts and my husband calls her the "Cookie Lady" because she knows her stuff. So, when she announced this cookbook I was SUPER excited. Her recipe development for cookies is always spot on and even when I've had issues (my oven runs hot), she's super kind to troubleshoot via email, or even Facebook. I've made several of the recipes from this cookbook already & I love them. Sally's step-by-step directions & photography is AMAZING and I love when my cookies IRL actually look like her photos (even if I can't achieve the same quality of photos; see below ;)) because of her explicit instructions. Here's a photo of the Spiced Pumpkin Whoopie Pies from the cookbook before I stored them in the freezer for my husband to snack on throughout the week.**PS: I once wrote to her via her website to ask her how her pumpkin recipes always appeared a brighter orange than mine did and she shared that her go-to pumpkin brand is Libby's because they use Dickinson pumpkins. In case that's helpful for anyone else. :)

Superb cookie baking cookbook

Sally does it again!
Sally does it again!! Think you have all the cookie recipes you need? Think again!Sally's recipes always turn out and no matter how difficult, Sally makes it accessible. It's like having your best friend cheerfully helping you in the kitchen. Each recipe has lovely photos and my favorite part: a little write-up at the top about what these cookies are all about. I don't bake as much as I'd like to, so I really look at all the details before deciding what to bake - Sally helps me make up my mind every time. The game-changer (for me) in this book is make-ahead instructions for EVERY single cookie! I'm not baking for a crowd, so now I can (easily, without searching for the details on the internet) whip up a whole batch of dough and only bake half (or fewer!) and freeze the rest for: special occasions (I'm going to rock Christmas this year) or when I need a quick bake (hello new neighbors!). My bottom freezer drawer is now a "baked-goods only" area until after the holidays.I would encourage everyone to buy the print version instead of the Kindle (or maybe both?) as it's a beautiful book to hold in your hands and look through. Also, you can add your own notes and ratings to each page as you bake your way through. Got a delightfully perfect bake on that shortbread last time, but can't remember the details two month later? Write it on the page - the recipe might say to bake for 15-17 mins and by the third tray, I've determined 15 mins and 45 seconds to be the golden best and now I'll have that written down for next time! I give each cookie a rating and notes. So far, our favorite has been the Giant M&M's Cookies but none of them have gotten below 5 stars. Cannot wait to bake my way through the rest of the book and reap the rewards come December (and let's be honest, the rest of the year).Get yourself a copy!!

A lovely book of biscuits
I initially bought this book for my mum but I liked it so much, I ordered one for myself too.The biscuits look both yummy and straightforward to make, with a large colour photo for each one and an easy to follow recipe. The ingrediants are in both American cups and grams, so British biscuit fans will have no problem making them too. The chapter featuring biscuits that contain colourful icing and Hundreds and Thousands is particularly lovely ( they're called a different name in the US ) and there's several choc and peanut biscuits which look very mourish.

Recipities could be suspect.
I am a new baler and tried the Buttery Shortbread first (Page 86)The dough was very soft and sticky. The recipe called for more butter than flour by weight. On research all other recipities called for 50% more flour than butter weight.I added more flour and the dough firmed up.I am reluctant to try more receipts.

A beautiful book.
I have waited for this book to come on Amazon UK for ages. All the other internet bookshops have been out of stock for the last year. I can now see why . This is a really delightful cookie cookery book. Every recipe has a beautiful picture to accompany it. At the beginning of each chapter and each cookie recipe Sally gives her thoughts, stories and hints in an informative and humorous way. She explains why you should or shouldn’t do something which I love. Most cook books you want to make only one or two of it’s recipes but here you will want to make them ALL! I’m already looking for Sally’s other two recipe books and hoping they will be as good as this book!!

LOVE THIS BOOK
there is a recipe in here for everyone - die hard chocolate, peanut butter, lemon, buttery shortbread, everything! I've been following Sally's Blog for 4 years and was so excited to receive my copy - this was definitely worth the wait for. It's well written with instructions easy to follow, handy tips and beautiful photographs. I've enjoyed all the recipes I've made so far and the oat and raisin cookies have become a firm favourite in our house.

Gluten free friendly
I both love and hate this book. Love that i can make delicious cookies easily, hate that I am making them every week and getting fat. Honestly so easy and enough to keep batches in the freezer, they've gone down a storm in my house. For all you gluten free out there I follow the recipes to a T and just add 1 tbsp of xathan gum per 250g flour and honestly they'll be the best gluten free cookies you have ever had!!!
