Solid tongs!
They're classic tongs! Nice value (thick and sturdy), work great for cooking/dishing, and the locking mechanism is great as well. They're a bit smaller than I had originally thought but they work great otherwise!

Durable and Precise
A Review of OXO Tongs"These OXO tongs are a sturdy and well-designed kitchen essential. Their compact size makes them perfect for handling smaller foods with precision, while the non-slip grip ensures comfort and control. The locking mechanism works smoothly for easy storage. Though smaller than standard tongs, they’re ideal for tasks like flipping bacon or serving salads or grilling. Good value for money, nice weight and thickness. Overall, a reliable and high-quality tool for any kitchen.

Get this one: comparison with Oxo SoftWorks
I've had the 9-in version of this used daily for over a decade, at it's still good as new, minus a few nicks and some patina (last picture). No oxidation, no melting plastic or rubber.Because I love these tongs, and looking to build out some dedicated "camping" utensils, I picked up a pair of 12-in Oxo SoftWorks tongs at my local retailer, what I thought was the same thing. It wasn't. Oxo Good Grips is an excellent product. Oxo SoftWorks is unsatisfying.Differences (pictured):- Good Grips locking mechanism is rubber molded over stainless steel. SoftWorks is plastic.- Good Grips metal is thicker gauge (see exposed ends).- Good Grips rubber handle grips are thicker with thumb contour. SoftWorks are flat.- Good Grips has a beefier spring.Similarities:- Same nylon heads.Altogether, the Good Grips tongs have a dramatically more solid, higher quality feel to them. The locking mechanism:I've used a tongs with a variety of locking mechanisms over the years. Squeeze to lock. Gravity rivet. That sliding wire loop.In my opinion Oxo is either the best or equal to the best. Is it strictly one-handed? No. But it is one handed to open: squeeze, push in lock. The mechanism is simple and bulletproof: never breaks or degrades. And it elegantly incorporates a hole for hanging.Easy to clean? Maybe kinda sorta? They're tongs. They have recessed areas and moving parts. I don't wash these in the dishwasher, so I've probably hand washed them (9-in) a thousand times. They're not hard to get clean. But I definitely avoid getting massive amounts of dried greasy food crammed up into the hinge. The materials, stainless steel, nylon heads, all very easy to clean and stand up to a good scrubbing with reasonable tools. No green ScotchBrite. No brillo pads.

Excellent tongs
These are my favorite kitchen tongs, to the point where I recently ordered a separate pair because I'm forever being annoyed when one is dirty. Like practically all OXO products, they are sturdy and well designed. I don't stick them into Open flame, but otherwise we use them with hot stuff all the time and they've held up great over several years. Throw them in the dishwasher all the time for easy cleaning with no issues. And the price point is good!

Just what I was looking for
These are very sturdy and the silicon over the tips grips the food I turn over better than others that are all metal. I bought it to use with my air fryer and it's great. It's definitely easier to use than a pancake turner or spoon. They actually close so that the tips meet. Hurrah! The food doesn't slip when I flip.

Well crafted precision pair of tongs
** Updated January 21, 2018 **I've been using these for over a year and a half now and still love them. We have another set of tongs that are made with silicone heads that I find all but useless as they cannot grip anything moist or oily. These OXO tongs never fail to solidly and precisely grip whatever I'm working with.Whether I'm cooking on the stove, the oven or the toaster oven, these are my go-to tool for carefully picking up and flipping or removing food items.** End January 21, 2018 Update **I recently got into cooking much more complex meals through the use of Home Chef. In support of this I picked up a nice medium teflon pan to replace the terrible "Green Pan" that we were using. Wanting to protect the new pan I did a bit of research and settled on these OXO 12-Inch Tongs With Nylon Heads. The tongs are sturdy and the nylon heads won't damage the teflon finish. I've been using them a couple of times a week for the past for the past 3 months cooking steak, chicken and green beans on the stove top and handling various vegetables and meats on cooking sheets in the oven. In my opinion concerns regarding the nylon heads melting are completely unwarranted. One surprising thing, these are very precisely made. The heads mate up exactly so I can easily pick up a single grain of rice if that need ever comes up. The lock that keeps the tongs closed and out of the way when they are on the counter is easily undone by just pressing it against my stomach when one hand is full and I need to pick up and use the tongs with my other hand.If you're uncertain whether to go for the 9-inch or the 12-inch tongs, get the 12-inch. I can maybe see using the smaller ones a bit more easily if you were fiddling with something inside of a small toaster oven but 12 inches is not so large as you might be thinking and you'll be happier with it when you are working with something spattering grease or trying to reach into a hot oven to flip over some meat.
