Mediabridge USB 3.0 - Micro-USB to USB Cable (8 Feet) - SuperSpeed A Male to Micro B

As a previous reviewer H. George (July 2nd, 2012) has has kindly pointed out, this cable is very rugged and seems well designed. However, it suffers from an inherent design flaw.H. George said in his review (he even posted pictures) , "I cut open the head to investigate.I found that the inside was a rigid plastic that encapsulated the wires. This hard capsule does not apply the cord any flexibility and therefore creates a break when the line bends too much. I twisted the wire half-way down the line and I could see the red wire in the head move slightly away from the solder - enough to break the connection. I recommend a change in design that allows a little more flexibility inside the head and a more rigid head. I noticed that the head was too flexible and a turn left or right of the connection head would change the cord's position enough to sever the solder connection.In short: great customer service, great exterior quality, poor inside connection design."Thank you for the insight Mr. George! I have had several of these fail and for the same flaw. I concur 100%. If this flaw could be fixed I would buy nothing but Mediabridge cables for everything. They look nice and are sturdy, just a design flaw on the internal cabling that ends up giving you an intermittent connection. At first I thought it was my phone, battery or outlet. Now I replaced the cable and I know why they keep failing while being so robust looking on the exterior.

This cord is very thick and Sturdy the durability of this cord is made to last a lifetime i use this cord for my USB port since I damaged the cord that originally came with it I use it with my gaming setup and with the cord being so long I can rearrange my USB device and place it pretty much anywhere around my set up this is a #3MONTHSLATERREVIEW

The cord functions properly and built nicely but with one design flaw; the plug at the end of the cord that connects to my WD external USB 3.0 hard drive did not fit into the usb port on the external drive because the plastic insulation around the plug was too thick. So I had to take a sharp knife and trim pieces of plastic on both sides of the plug. Along the process the plug slipped off my hand and I cut my thumb open bleeding all over the place. There for I knocked down a star for the rating.

I always buy media bridge products. This cable was perfect for getting a better range with my USB Wi-Fi to place a high advantage point. I would recommend this product.

Bought this to lengthen my Note 3's recharge cord. Um . . . it charges it when i connect it. Only thing i had to do was modify my Otterbox a bit by shaving off about 1/32nd on each side of the hard plastic part of Otterbox where this cord plugs in. It would not insert completely until i did.

I like having more than just 1 meter of cable to charge my phone at night. While 8 feet might be overdoing it, it's useful when I'm in a doctor's office, running low on juice, and the electrical plug is more than 3 feet away. It is a thick cable, so weight might be a consideration, but it's worked well for me.

I've been a fan of Mediabridge products for a few years. In all cases, the quality of their products is outstanding. The materials are rugged, and I feel that they will last for some time. My last purchase of Mediabridge's USB 3.0 - Micro-USB to USB Cable is no exception. FYI, I use it to connect a Seagate 5GB portable to my MacBook Pro. It works well, and I appreciate the length.

These are some of the most high quality, well made cables I have found. The construction quality is the best I've found yet so I know they will last for years to come. I purchased a couple of these to replace the cables that came with my external hard drives simply because I needed longer cables. The original cables don't even compare to the quality construction of these Mediabridge cables. And their performance has been flawless. Anytime I need a cable of any type, I look for it at Mediabridge first!
