are these from China, I am having a real headache trying to source butter beans that aren't from China!
Anybody know what species these are? "Butter beans" is a vague term that can apply to several things, including lima beans.
Where are these beans grown, please? Dave.

Completely inedible
I purchased two packs of these, and both turned out to be an absolute disaster. The bitterness was so overwhelming that the dishes were completely inedible, forcing me to throw them away. I initially gave the benefit of the doubt, assuming the problem might be with other ingredients. However, after today’s second attempt, resulting in another ruined dish, it's clear that this product is entirely to blame. Not only have I wasted money on these, but I’ve also wasted expensive imported ingredients that were meant for a traditional fabada. This has been a frustrating and costly experience, and I strongly advise against buying this product.

Lovely Big Beans
I ordered these originally as I had wanted to try a new recipe using dried beans and my supermarket don’t stock them. They arrived the next day and I followed the instructions to the letter, soaking them overnight then rinsing them before boiling them for 50 minutes and adding to the recipe. I was fascinated by the whole process of them going all wrinkly and looking rather ‘messy’ at times and to be honest, I thought I’d made a big mistake and started to regret not just opening a tin. However, I was shocked when the finished dish was filled with beautiful, smooth beans that tasted divine and far superior to any others I’ve tried before! The process of soaking and cooking is so worth all the time and effort and I have vowed never to buy a tin of butter beans ever again! I’ve also ordered more so I have a stock and have made a couple of other dishes since, both as successful.

Good price, could be fresher
I am an expert bean eater and the beans I got were not particularly fresh. They worked out ok for me as I cook them in an instant pot and that makes all beans much easier to digest but if you cooked them in conventional pot they may end up a bit hard and difficult to digest. It may have just been the batch, I may buy again to check as the price is good.
