Tean's Gourmet Chicken Curry Paste, 200 g

Brilliant brand. Normally I go into the city to buy these. Brilliant for the slow cooker with large chunks of potatoes , coconut milk and beef, chicken or lamb chucked in. Some fresh coriander, fresh lime and gorgeous basmati rice...heaven!

Very tasty. Reminded me of my Late Mothers mild and creamy Sri Lankan curries she used to make for me as a child. These Malaysian Curry Pastes are quick and easy to prepare. 1 to 1.5kg's of chicken on the bone, peeled, halved or quartered potatoes, 250ml water, 200ml coconut milk. I like to hardboil 4 eggs in the curry as it cooks away. Once it is all cooked, I eat it with some fresh cooked Macaroni. You could have rice though.

Oh this is so tasty. Was recently by Malaysian restaurant when I complained I can’t find the right curry paste. But be aware- it’s really Malaysian paste so spicy

I am from Malaysia and my mother used to make her own curry powder. Unless this is no longer an option so I am always trying “Malaysian” curry power or paste to find a good alternative. I quite like this in terms of taste ((though not as good as the ones my mother used to make of course) but some may find it a bit spicy. Not all curries in Malaysia is spicy (hot). Maybe if I add more liquid in next time it won’t be as spicy as some of my friends won’t be able to take it. However, I would definitely buy again as it’s so easy to just throw in some chopped shallots, sear the chicken pieces, asd this paste, add in potatoes and watered down coconut milk before finishing off with thick coconut milk/cream right at the end….simples!
