Great. Maybe the best water shoes I've owned.
I have owned many pairs of water shoes, and these are the best. I wear water shoes on a regular basis for hiking in creeks. I also wear them periodically for padleboarding, or for walking on rocky areas near the ocean. I just got these and wore them for a creek hike. These are very light weight. I'm actually surprised that they seem to quality and yet are so light. They were comfortable, as far as water shoes go, the first time I put them on, straight out of the box. I wear orthotics in all my shoes, so I put my orthotics in them for wearing them to hike. They were super comfortable and stable, with my orthotics in them. The rubber on the bottom is as grippy as any water shoes I have ever had. I expect to slip on slimy rocks, which these did, but everything else they gripped well without slipping, above water and under water. There is a layer of rubber on top of the toes, which is fantastic. Hiking in the creek, my toes go underneath the edges of rocks often, which can jam and hurt your toes. Yesterday, on my creek hike, my foot went under the edges of many rocks, and it never hurt my toes. I was very pleased with this. My previous water shoes covered the whole foot (not sandals, no vent holes), like these, but the tops were loose enough that they let in little rocks. These tie up pretty snug, so they kept rocks out well. Sand is going to get in no matter what. I will buy another pair someday, if they still exist when it's time to get new ones. I expect that will be a while.

Great shoes so far
Got these to replace a pair of hiking boots I had. I have had similar pairs in the past, just not the trail version. I wore them a handful of times to walk the dog, before using them for hikes in RMNP. I basically didn’t break them in and I had zero problems. I love that they are minimal, zero drop and have a wide toe box. They were true to size and very comfortable. I had no issues with feeling rocks or anything, through the sole. With my current pair of barefoot Inov8’s I workout in, that is a problem outside. Obviously this is a different application, but I wanted a similar fit and feel. I hope that they hold up well, because they’re exactly what I was hoping for

Best shoe in the world for running
This is the best running shoe in the world. Also for rock climbing and hiking and gym it's the best. The only better shoe was the trail glove 1, the original. I hope the company will not "tinker" with it more. The 6 and 7 are awful. They have a thick sole! Maybe merrell will bring this legend back by the time I need new ones 🙂. These are invincible, I have trusted them literally with my life scrambling, flying down hills from California to new England, and everywhere in between. Trail glove 1, 4, and 5 are the good ones. If you want true zero drop with extremely tough vibram to protect against rocks or other sharps. I'd pay three digits if they bring these back in the future.

Comfortable to wear, larger toe box, More rigid soles than previous models.
Pros: Light weight, thin sole: The reason i buy, I love running semi-barefoot and this is why i love it Larger toe Box: The toe box is improved from the last one, doesnt sacrifice grip or traction for me. Stylish: I love the color scheme, i picked blue and grey. Reinforced section connecting sole to shoe: This seems stronger than previous versions. My last 3 trail gloves i owned my foot rubbed right through the fabric at the knuckle of my big toe. So far i havent noticed any wear (will update if this problem re-occurs.) Cons: Changing shape and design again: I'm habitual, I want one set of shoes that work and just keep sending me copies more rigid sole than previous models: I buy these because it feels like im running barefoot. But this version seems a little more supported, which for me; is the opposite of what i want. I just want protection and traction for my feet. that way my toes, calves and legs are doing all of the work. My Use: I am not a daily runner, I might run 2-4 miles a week. I use these shoes for casual wear, work(when i can), and running on pavement or light dirt pathways. I have been using Merrel Minimalist shoes since 2011. My only complaint is they discontinue older models and i have to keep changing shoe types when i'm comfortable with a design. I will note previous model issues since these are still in the early stages of ownership.

Good trail shoe for people with high arches - would not use it on extremely rocky trail
I started running again after long time away from the sport and my old Merrell barefoot shoes (4yo but used mostly for walking) would not last very long anymore if subjected to daily runs so I decided to invest in new Merrells. I like their shoes because I have wide feed with extremely high arches and it is hard for me to find shoes that fit. Also the weak point for me in every sport shoe I ever bought is padding at the back of the heel. In any other brand they pad too much and I typically rip that area to shreds in 6 months - Merrells are one brand for which it rarely happens - especially with barefoot shoes with low padding. First impression with Trail Glove 5 was that it was slightly too big (I wear size 11 and bought the same size) but then I realize that I need to be more careful lacing them - then they start "hugging" foot much better. They fit "like a glove" from day one. I run mostly on a trail through the woods - some exposed roots and few rocky areas and they do fine - amount of padding is about right. Soles have good grip too. If I was using them for very rocky terrain I would probably find another pair with slightly thicker soles. Update after 6 weeks. I usually cover 4-6 miles on trail or pavement. So far very light running and a lot of fast walking. I think that I may hit the durability issue a bit earlier than expected - since soles show some signs of wear. Other than that - no issues.

Merrell quality
I just tried these on and they fit perfectly. I noticed a really nice arch support so I know they will provide good comfort. I will take these out for a walk as soon as the snow melts but I know this was a good purchase. Thank you.

Es muy cómoda y se adapta muy bien a las características de mi pisada. Además tiene refuerzos que la hacen muy duradera. Serán las segundas iguales después que con las primeras haya hecho más de mil kilómetros y aún están nuevas

Scarpa comoda e precisa, adatta a fondi asciutti e compatti.
