If you're looking, buy these. Period.
We bought this house a bit over three years ago. The fireplace had never been used. We use it. A lot. The original firescreen should have been replaced a year, or more, ago, as it was significantly affected by the heat of the fires I build (I have burned up two grates in three years. Buy a good one). We burn mostly maple and locust, but do have some red fir and lodgepole pine in the mix. Those two throw sparks like crazy. This screen fits far better, slides far better and overlaps better than the original from Heatilator. We keep furs, bearskins winter, sheepskins summer, on our hearth.Since they each cost as much as a cord of wood, we really don't want to replace them annually. Not all fireplace screens are created equal. It's their tag line, and they're right. I regret not replacing the originals with these sooner. Three cords burned, so far, this winter, zero impact on these screens.

Very Nice Update
Our fireplace has gotten a lot of use over the past five plus years and due to the screen being rather difficult to slide, it had become a bit stretched and worn. Doors aren't an option on our fireplace so new screens were in order. These were a perfect fit and seem to be an exact replacement for the existing screens. They changed out in less than 5 minutes with the only tool required being a nut driver to release the existing valance rods, which simply drop right down after releasing the single fastener on each rod.The quality of the screen material feels comparable to what came original on our fireplace. I can't say if that's great, good, or not so good, but I'm satisfied.Overall we're very pleased with the results of this relatively inexpensive update to our living room and would encourage anyone with a worn screen to consider this as well.

Love our new fireplace screen.
Our screen arrived in a timely manner and was all that it should have been, long enough, wide enough and of good material. We did have difficulty installing it and must have strung the first screen on the rod 6 times before figuring out how it was suppose to be done. Different parts must to be strung in just the right order or it will not slide and set correctly. The next rod stringing went up in one try, as we then knew what we were doing. Getting the ends of the screen to attach to the sides of the fireplace (end of rod) was difficult. We had to Mickey Mouse one end with a piece of wire. However this wasn't the fault of the product.I would have given this 5 stars if the instructions had been a little clearer.

Everything I had hoped for in a fireplace mesh screen.
After several months of testing this product I an very pleased. There is a nice overlap that prevents anything from the fire popping out of the fireplace. Also, I did not think I would enjoy the handles as much as I do. They are not hot to the touch despite having a pretty hot fire.If I could find any negative, it would be that the screens do not slide on the rails as smoothly as I feel like they could, but that could be due to my installation, I also installed the vallence kit. Overall this is a great product and I recommend it to anyone.

Just what was ordered
This is just what we needed to replace our old fireplace screen. We use an outside screen as well but the additional layer of protection is welcome especially when we let the fire burn down at night. I'll close this screen as well as the outside screen stand so that any sparks, fallen pieces, etc. can't get out to the floors. As with all of these hanging screens this one at times seems to catch and not want to move. Probably more a result of the track it sits in than the screen itself.Overall we are very satisfied with the screen.

Made In CHINA. Falsely advertised or wrong screen shiped.
Customer sent fireplace screen made by Home Saver manufactured in China. All labeling states made in China and item seems average to cheaply made. I requested the return authorization and was sent through Amazon a bar code label (authorization code?) and instructions to pay shipping charges. They sent either the wrong cheap version of screen made for them or they simply have a false description of a screen made in USA by Condar in South Carolina. I have made two attempts to get an explanation and my calls have not been returned.

Good product.
This was a replacement screen on a wood burning fireplace. We burn very hot fires everyday and this is holding up well. The old one lasted about 5 years before it got deformed to the point it was a hassle using it. I imagine I’ll get same out of this one. Very easy to install, just make sure you follow instructions and measure correctly.
