Great Little Device for Back and Neck
I have a terrible kink in my neck that I'm always kneading with my hands, so I decided to get something to alleviate the strain and be more effective on my kink. I had Nukkels before and liked it but it didn't get really deep, but the Dolphin Massager has nubs which can get pretty deep. It is bigger than I thought it would be which is fine as it's easier to hold that way. It is also quite hard. I only gave it a 4 because I wish the top fins were a little more narrow as to fit over my spine a little more snugly. I think however, this would get a 5 for people who give massages or have someone else who can use this on their back. It would be great for Shaitsu, I am sure. Overall a great little tool for managing muscle pain!

Junk
I don't think it's worth anything. It's a piece of plastic which is supposed to help your back pain. Did nothing for me.

Broke after second use but it was cute while it lasted.

Hard Plastic
This is cute and will work as described, but the plastic construction is very hard and there are fine sharp ridges along the sides which, I assume, are remnants of the mold used to form the plastic shape. I have not yet figured out a way to smooth down these seam-ridges so I do not use this on paying clients - would not like to hear "Ouch!" from the massage table. With hands oiled and slippery, it is not easy to hang onto. Still looking for a massage aid that works and is easy to grip with lotions and oils causing a slippery grip.

Simple yet great
When my wife and I attended childbirth classes the nurse in charge passed out a variety of massagers that we used for a bit. My wife's favorite was far and away the dolphin massager. Such a simple piece of plastic, but it did a better job of easing her intense low-back pain than anything else we tried at that class or anywhere else. While the dolphin design may be either aesthetically pleasing or slightly cheesy depending on your personal tastes, the way the fins mimic four thumbs when applied is undeniably great. Even the worst amateur masseuse can ease their partner's pain and tension with this dolphin.

Good but not as great as the original
This is a good massager but compared to the original dolphin massager I bought about 15 years ago, this one is smaller and the edges are not as smooth.

angles of the fins are way off.
cannot massage some ones back unless it is very soapy or oily. If you are oily or soapy it's hard to hold.
