Works great
This is the only one that would work in my basement floor drain, as my drain curved right away. All other's were to long and would hit the curve . This fit perfect, the rubber sealed the drain tight, no more smell in my basement.

2015: The drain seal was installed in about 15 minutes (which included cleaning of the drain pipe at the top to ensure a complete seal. The smell was gone as soon as the seal was installed. We have had no issues with the seal and it has been 2 months.2024 update: This product lasted over 9 years before the sewer gas started leaking through the seal. I am replacing it with the same manufacturer's product. I am a very satisfied customer!

Not a reliable product. Broke on installation.
This was exactly what I needed, but when I went to install it, the bottom part of the flapper just flew off. Luckily it didnt go down the drain. The bottom part is just press fit in 2 places and this is completely unreliable. There are two posts that look like they could have installed screws to keep this in place but there is nothing there. Im not sure if this is supposed to have screws, but from my 2 minutes of dealing with this part, it looks like there should be screws to keep this from falling apart. For a 50 dollar piece of plastic, this is a complete and utter failure. I would not trust this part to not break and fall into your drain. Do not buy this.

Old Design Worked for Two Years, and when it Failed Rectorseal Replaced It. Current Design Looks Better.
I had an older model of this trap seal that worked well for two years. Then the flaps lost contact and started letting gas through. I emailed Rectorseal asking about repairing or replacing the flaps. They got back to me immediately (at 10PM) and offered to send me a replacement. This is expensive for a neoprene flap, but it works. And the redesign looks more durable than the one I eventually had trouble with. More importantly Rectorseal stood by their product, no questions asked.

I am very happy with this product
I am very happy with this product. I have a drain in my basement that has a cracked trap so it won't hold water. Someday I'll need to dig it up and replace the trap but I'd rather do it when it's more convenient and after I've done some research. The SureSeal does exactly what it says on the tin. I've found it to be totally effective at preventing the sewer gas from diffusing into my basement.

Lack of local retailers to pickup/order product of the right size when needed for a job. Need to have specifications: minimum and maximum size openings (ID inside of sized pipe) and water column inches for min-max flow rate.

Effective
The radon level in my house dropped after installing this. It was very easy to install. Expensive for what it is, but glad I bought it
